To James, bishop of Imola, commissary of the pope and the apostolic see to the realm of Scotland and its provinces, etc., with full power of a legate de latere. Appointing him commissary of the pope and the apostolic see in the said realm, with full power of a legate de latere, in which realm the papal Camera has very many debtors; with power to exact payment of arrears by whomsoever owed, especially from William, archbishop of St. Andrews, and John Liester, Friars Minors [sic], and Simon Phinlay, priest, nuncios, commissaries, collectors, and sub-collectors and sub-commissaries, in the church of St. Andrews, and other nuncios … and subcommissaries of tenths, of the Jubilee subsidy, and of indulgences granted by the pope or his predecessors in favour of the Crusade and the hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, and for the defence of the said hospital's island of Rhodes, and for any other cause, or of annates of any benefices belonging to the said Camera, etc. (fn. 2); proceeding by ecclesiastical censure, sequestration, imprisonment, etc., and invoking, if necessary, the aid of the secular arm, etc. In order that his mission may not be impeded, the pope hereby revokes the said archbishop William, John and Simon, and any other collectors, etc., appointed in the said realm by the pope and the apostolic see, and also by the master and convent of Rhodes, and their sub-collectors, etc., and all power and authority granted to them. Appointing him apostolic nuncio and collector-general during the pope's pleasure in the provinces of Armagh, Dublin, Cashel, and Tuam, and their cities and dioceses, and throughout all Ireland, of fruits, etc., due to the pope and the Roman Church and the papal Camera, all other collectors and sub-collectors being hereby revoked and removed; with the usual faculties and powers.
