1405. 6 Kal. June. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 40.)	To John Curke. Collation and provision to him—who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure—in accordance with the pope's continued reservation of benefices reserved and not disposed of by his predecessor, of the parish church of Kennegh in the diocese of Ferns, value not exceeding 20 marks, void and reserved to the apostolic see by the death there of Nicholas Kenlys during the lifetime of Boniface IX, who died without disposing thereof. Vite ac morum.
	Concurrent mandate to the bishops of Tuy, Ossory and Leighlin. Vite etc.
2 Kal. May. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 69.)	To the prior of Lochra in the diocese of Killaloe, and the archdeacon and chancellor of Killaloe. Mandate as below. Boniface IX, upon learning that the rectory of Remelarga (sic) in the diocese of Killaloe was void because Donatus Ohegagayn had held it for a year and more without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation, ordered the bishop of Telese, the abbot of the monastery of Kelbegayn and the prior of Durbach in the diocese of Meath, their own names not being expressed, to collate and assign it to Maurice Oscula, clerk, of the said diocese. The recent petition to the present pope of Dermit Odublain, perpetual vicar of Dumgeren in the diocese of Killaloe, contained that afterwards Maurice, to whom provision was duly made by the said bishop of the said rectory, of which Donatus was in possession, caused Donatus to be summoned before the said prior, who gave definitive sentence in his favour and against Donatus; and that subsequently, as a result of their friends’ mediation, an amicable agreement was arrived at, by which Donatus was to remain in possession for life, but was to pay Maurice from the fruits etc. of the rectory a yearly pension. Seeing that, as the pope has learned, the said rectory, which is of the patronage of a layman, and of which Donatus still holds possession, is void, and has been so long void that by the Lateran statutes its collation has devolved to the apostolic see, because Maurice, although he has received the pension for several years, has not had himself ordained priest and has not obtained dispensation, the pope orders the above-named three, if upon summoning Donatus and Maurice they find the facts to be as stated, to collate and assign the rectory, value not exceeding 12 marks, to Dermit, Donatus and Maurice and any other unlawful detainers being removed; notwithstanding that Dermit holds the said perpetual vicarage of Dungeryn, value not exceeding 6 marks, which, upon obtaining the rectory, he is to resign. 4 Kal. March. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 73.)	To the bishop of Tuy and the archdeacons of London and Hereford. Mandate to collate and assign to Richard Scoboirne, perpetual vicar of Birehune (sic) in the diocese of Winchester, priest, the perpetual vicarage of St. Stephen's, Saltasch, in the diocese of Exeter, value not exceeding 30 marks, so long void that the mode of voidance is uncertain and that its collation has by the Lateran statutes devolved to the apostolic see; notwithstanding that he holds the said vicarage of Birehune, without cure and value not exceeding 5 marks. 1405. 11 Kal. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 80d.)	To the precentor (cantori) and treasurer, and John Olongayn, canon, of Killaloe. Mandate to collate and assign to James Olonyrgayn, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe—who has had papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure—the perpetual vicarage of Kyllanasulch in the said diocese, value not exceeding 6 marks, void because Donatus Mclanchega held it for a year and more without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation. Vite etc.
7 Id. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 82.)	To the provost and archdeacon of the church of Achonry, and the official of Achonry. Mandate to collate and assign to Donatus Omynachan, perpetual vicar of Kyllmurchayn (sic) in the diocese of Elphin (corrected in margin from Achonry), priest, the perpetual vicarage of Kyllmurchayn in the diocese of Achonry, value not exceeding 4 marks, so long void by the death of Murianus Machloclaynd that its collation has by the Lateran statutes devolved to the apostolic see, although Murianus Macgillalnachrind, who is to be removed, unduly detains possession; notwithstanding that Donatus holds the perpetual vicarage of Kyllruayn, value also not exceeding 4 marks, which upon obtaining that of Kyllmurchayn, he is, as he has offered, to resign. Vite etc.
17 Kal. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 101d.)	To the prior of Monaincha (de Insula vivencium) in the diocese of Killaloe. Mandate to collate and assign to John Ocuanayn, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe—who has had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which he obtained by collation of the ordinary the perpetual vicarage of Rosgomruagh in the same diocese, which he subsequently freely resigned without having had possession—if found fit in Latin, the rectory of Rarthdouinaygh, in the diocese of Ossory, of the patronage of laymen and value not exceeding 14 marks, so long void—because Donald Ocuanayn obtained by authority of the ordinary, and held therewith for several years without dispensation, the perpetual vicarage of Rosgomruagh in the diocese of Killaloe—that its collation has by the Lateran statutes devolved to the apostolic see. John is hereby dispensed to hold the rectory notwithstanding his said illegitimacy. Dignum arbitramur.

3 Non. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 157d.)	To the abbot of Clonfert (de Portu puro) in the diocese of Clonfert, and the dean and Bernard [son] of Eugenius Ykeallaygh, canon, of Clonfert. Mandate to collate and assign to Ruadricus Odallayn, deacon, perpetual beneficiary called portionary in the church of Kilfenora, the canonry and prebend of Drochey (sic) in Clonfert, value not exceeding 3 marks, void by the death of Dermit Odallayn, although Donatus Meclandehuga, clerk, of the diocese of Kilfenora, who is to be removed, unduly detains possession; notwithstanding that he holds a certain perpetual benefice, without cure, called a portion, in Kilfenora, and that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to him of the treasurership of the same, a non-major dignity with cure, and of the perpetual vicarages [above, Reg. CXXI, f. 13d.] of the united parish churches of Buncath (sic) and Deumlaygyll (sic) in the diocese of Killaloe, the value of all which does not exceed 12 marks, and has dispensed him to hold treasurership and vicarages together for life. 4 Non. Feb. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 159.)	To the prior of Pilla in the diocese of St. Davids. Mandate to collate and assign to John Heywarde, canon of St. Davids, if found fit, the canonry and prebend of Penfoos in St. Davids, value not exceeding 20 marks, void by the free resignation of Robert Wermyngton to bishop Guy; notwithstanding that John holds a certain other canonry and a cursal prebend of St. Davids and the church, without cure, of St. Martin Pomeroy (in Pomerio), London, the value of both of which does not exceed 40 marks. Upon obtaining the said canonry and prebend of Penfoos he is to resign his said canonry and cursal prebend. Dignum arbitramur.
14 Kal. April. St. Peter's. Rome. (f. 175.)	To the bishops of Tuy and Kilfenora and the dean of Killaloe. Mandate to collate and assign to Thomas Okeallaygh Obroggy, perpetual vicar of Tuaymsynnlacha (sic) in the diocese of Killaloe, priest—who has studied canon law for several years; who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which the pope ordered provision to be made to him of the parish church of Kylchurnayn, called a rectory, in the diocese of Limerick, and dispensed him to hold it for life with his said perpetual vicarage; and whom the pope has this day dispensed to hold any mutually compatible benefices of any number and kind, even if canonries and prebends and dignities, major or principal and unique respectively, and elective, personatus or offices, with or without cure, in metropolitan, cathedral or collegiate churches, and to resign them, for exchange or otherwise, as often as he pleases for similar of dissimilar mutually compatible benefices—the canonry and prebend of Donmachmor in Limerick, value not exceeding 8 marks, void because Richard Lewys has contracted marriage; notwithstanding that Thomas holds the said vicarage and that he has recently obtained provision, by virtue of the pope's said mandate, of the above parish church, value not exceeding 22 marks. Kal. May. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 181.)	To the abbot of Holy Cross, Waltham, in the diocese of London. Mandate—recapitulating the rehabilitation of Thomas de Moston, clerk, of the diocese of Lichfield, and his required resignation of the canonry and prebend of Rikall in York, of which he had obtained provision from archbishop Richard, notwithstanding that they had been reserved and that papal provision of them had been made to Henry, cardinal bishop of Tusculum, then cardinal priest of St. Anastasia's, as above, Reg. CXX, f. 150d; seeing that the said canonry and prebend became void at the apostolic see by the resignation to the pope of the said cardinal without having had possession, and are still void there and therefore reserved—to collate and assign to Thomas, if found fit, the same, value not exceeding 100 marks, whether void by the said resignation, or by the consecration of Richard, [now] bishop of Worcester, then bishop [elect] of Wells and Bath, on his promotion to the see of Worcester, or otherwise void. Dignum arbitramur.
3 Non. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 182d.)	To the bishop of Killaloe, the abbot of Inisgad in the diocese of Killaloe, and John Olongain, canon of Killaloe. Mandate to collate and assign to Donatus Macmachinia, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, who, he says, is of noble birth, the canonry and prebend of Iniskathig in Killaloe, value not exceeding 20 marks, void by the death of Matthew Macommara; notwithstanding that Donatus is, by authority of letters granted to him by the present pope under the form for poor clerks, expecting a benefice with or without cure in the common gift of the dean and chapter of Limerick, which letters shall, upon his obtaining the said canonry and prebend, be null and void. 8 Id. July. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 187.)	To the precentor (cantori) of the church of Llanddewyvrevi (sic), in the diocese of St. Davids. Mandate to collate and assign to David Gwyn, canon of Llandewybrevi in the diocese of St. Davids, if found fit, the canonry and prebend of Ll[an]erthne in Abergwili, value not exceeding 40 marks, void by the death of William Ermyn; notwithstanding that David holds a canonry and prebend of Llandewybrevi, value not exceeding 30 marks. 1404. 3 Id. Nov. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 226d.)	To the bishops of Tuy and St. Asaph, and the abbot of Lanternan in the diocese of Llandaff. Mandate as below. On 15 Kal. Sept. anno 15 [1404] Boniface IX, upon learning the voidance by the death of John Walton of the archdeaconry of Kermerdin, a non-major and non-elective dignity with cure, with a canonry and prebend annexed thereto, in St. Davids, of the canonry and prebend of Lambister in Aberguile, and of the parish church of Landebaclant in the diocese of St. Davids, granted collation thereof, value altogether not exceeding 300 marks, to Master Adam Usk, rector of Castelcombe in the diocese of Salisbury, D.C.L., papal chaplain and auditor—who had lately received papal dispensation, when holding Castelcombe, to receive and hold therewith for life two other benefices with cure or otherwise incompatible, even if they were dignities, major or principal and unique respectively, and elective, personatus, administrations or offices, with or without cure, in metropolitan, cathedral or collegiate churches, parish churches, or perpetual vicarages, and required continual and personal residence, and to resign Castelcombe and such benefices, as often as he pleased, for exchange or otherwise, and hold instead three similar or dissimilar incompatible benefices; notwithstanding that he held the said church of Castelcombe, a canonry and prebend in St. Asaph and certain others in Aberuigly (sic), value altogether not exceeding 80 marks, which others in Aberguily he was to resign on obtaining the above-named in that church. Inasmuch as pope Boniface died before his letters were made out the pope hereby decrees that the said grant shall take effect from the date thereof, and orders the above three executors to collate and assign. De Dignitatibus Vacantibus



1405. 13 Kal. Feb. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 248d.)	To Philip Prout. Provision of the chancellorship of Ossory, a non-major and non-elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 20 marks, still reserved to the apostolic see and so long void—by the promotion, made by Gregory XI, of the late Milo archbishop of Armagh, and by his consecration, performed at the apostolic see by mandate of that pope, who, as also Urban VI and Boniface IX, died without disposing thereof—that its collation has lapsed to the said see; notwithstanding that he holds the parish church of Blonchefyldistowne in the diocese of Ossory, value not exceeding 12 marks, which, upon obtaining the chancellorship, he is to resign. Vite etc.
	Concurrent mandate to the bishop of Tuy, the prior of St. Mary's, Kells (de Kellis), in the diocese of Ossory, and the archdeacon of Cashel. Vite etc.
1404. Kal. Dec. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 250d.)	To the bishop of Marseilles (Massilien.) and the precentor and Florence Okettygyd, canon, of Kilfenora. Mandate to collate and assign to John Odalayg, deacon, of the diocese of Kilfenora—who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure—the chancellorship of Kilfenora, a non-major and non-elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 3 marks, void because Thomas Ocondboyg obtained and held therewith for a year and more, without dispensation, first the rectory of Ybflachnyed and afterwards the perpetual vicarage of Kylleny Innabayr, in the said diocese. John is hereby dispensed to hold the chancellorship and any mutually compatible benefices, of any number and kind, with or without cure, even if dignities, major and elective in cathedral churches, personatus or offices, and to resign them as often as he pleases, simply or for exchange, and hold instead similar or dissimilar mutually compatible benefices. His illegitimacy need not be mentioned in future graces. Vite etc. (Pro Deo.)
2 Kal. Dec. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 254d.)	To the archbishop of Armagh and the bishops of Tuy and Clogher. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Macgillibridy, canon of Raphoe, the deanery of Derry, value not exceeding 40 marks, void and reserved because the late William Mackathmayl, holding the rectory, with cure, of Furnay in the diocese of Derry, obtained and held therewith for a month and more against John XXII's constitution Execrabilis the said deanery, a major dignity with cure; notwithstanding that Donald holds a canonry and prebend of Raphoe, to which prebend the rectory of Teachbuychyn in the diocese of Raphoe is annexed, which canonry and prebend and rectory are, by the custom of Raphoe, compatible with any other benefice with cure, dignity or personatus, and whose value does not exceed 6 marks. Vite etc.
1405. 7 Kal. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 256d.)	To the bishops of Tuy and Kilfenora and the prior of Lochkra in the diocese of Killaloe. Mandate to collate and assign to David Odubeyn, rector of Bunkam in the diocese of Killaloe—who when coming to the Roman court was plundered and severely wounded by robbers (malendrinos)—the archdeaconry of Clonfert, a dignity with cure, value not exceeding 15 marks, void and reserved under the constitution Execrabilis because the late Donald Omaddagayn obtained it by authority of the ordinary and held it for several years together with the said parish church which he, too, held; notwithstanding that David holds Bunkam, value not exceeding 6 marks. He is hereby dispensed to receive and hold for five years the archdeaconry together with Bunkam. Vite etc.
