To Simon Dallyng, rector of All Saints, Warham, in the diocese of Norwich, I.U.B. Dispensation to hold for three years together with the above church, value not exceeding 20 marks, any other benefice with cure or otherwise incompatible, even if another parish church etc. Within the said period he is to exchange one of them for another benefice compatible with the remaining one; if not, he is to resign whichever of them he chooses. To the bishop of Clonmacnoise. Mandate as below. The pope has been informed by Andrew Okachasayd, acolyte, of the diocese of Meath, that formerly, whilst William Cruys, priest, was holding the parish church of St. Mary, Lochseiudi, in the said diocese, the pope, on learning that the said church was void by the death of Maurice Okynedi, ordered the bishop of Ciudad Rodrigo (Ciuitaten.) and others (not here named) to make collation and provision thereof to John Okachasayd, clerk, of the said diocese; that after Andrew, bishop of Ciudad Rodrigo, had taken some proceedings, John bargained with William that if the latter would resign the church with a view to its being collated to John, John would pay him for life 5 marks a year from the fruits; that William resigned the church to bishop Edward, who was ignorant, it is believed, of the said bargain, and who admitted the resignation, and that bishop Andrew, likewise ignorant, made collation and provision by virtue of the above letters to John, who has simoniacally paid the said money to William for several years. The pope orders the above bishop to summon the said John (fearing whose power the said Andrew cannot safely meet him within the city and diocese of Meath) and others concerned, and if Andrew will accuse him, to inform himself, and if he find the above to be true, to decree the said collation and provision null, and in that event to remove the said John and any other, and to collate and assign the said church, value not exceeding 46 marks, to Andrew, who lately received papal dispensation, alleging himself to be the son of a priest and an unmarried woman related in the double fourth and double third degrees of affinity, to be promoted etc., as above, f. 72, under pretext of which dispensation he has, although the said priest and woman are in reality related in the second and third degrees of affinity, had himself promoted to all minor orders. Andrew is hereby dispensed to minister in the orders which he has received, be promoted to all holy orders, and hold the said church. Vite etc. (Subscribed after the above date: Ja. xxx. Octauo Kal. To the prior of St. Mary's, Inisclochraun, in the diocese of Ardagh. Mandate, as below. The pope etc., as above, f. 133 as far as ‘had taken some proceedings,’ and after John had removed William and had obtained possession, John bargained that if William would desist from disturbing him in regard to the church he would pay him for life 5 marks a year from the fruits; that William desisted, and that John has simoniacally paid him the said money for several years. The pope, seeing that if the above be true John has rendered himself unworthy of the said church, orders etc. as ibid. as far as ‘if he find the above to be true,’ to deprive John of the said church and to remove him, and in the event of his doing so, to collate and assign the said church, value etc., as ibid., as far as the end. To Thomas Rosell[is], perpetual vicar of St. Peter's, Drogheda, in the diocese of Armagh, bachelor of canon law. Dispensation to him (who holds the said vicarage, value not exceeding 20 marks, and is litigating in the Roman court about the canonry and prebend of Glemethan in Dublin, value not exceeding 60, and about the archdeaconry of Kenlys in Meath, a non-major dignity, to which is annexed the parish church of Nobyre, of which (quorum) he has not got possession, and to whom provision was lately granted by papal authority of another canonry of Dublin with the prebend of Swerdes, value not exceeding 400 marks, and who can hold together the said archdeaconry and vicarage for three years under a papal dispensation), to hold the said archdeaconry, if he win it, and one, or without the archdeaconry, any two other benefices with cure or otherwise incompatible with one another, even if dignities etc., and to hold the same and the said vicarage together for a year, and to resign them, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases, and hold instead three incompatible benefices for the said year, and two for life.
