To the bishop of Concordia, the abbot of SS. Peter and Paul's, Armagh, and Nemeas Ofyndrachtaid, canon of Clogher. Mandate to collate and assign to Denis Oculean, clerk, of the diocese of Armagh, the deanery of Armagh, void by the death of Thomas Oluchurean, as below. Denis, in his suit against Thomas about the deanery, obtained from Baldassar, called John XXIII, letters ordering the Cistercian abbot of St. Patrick's, Newry (de Viridiligno), in the diocese of Dromore, to deprive Thomas and collate and assign the deanery to him [Cal. VI, 421]. Arthur Mackamail, rector of Balicluyg in the diocese of Armagh, under commission from Thomas, abbot of St. Patrick's, proceeded against Thomas, after the obedience to the above pope had ceased in those parts, and delivered a definitive sentence, depriving Thomas and making provision to Denis. Thomas obtained from the Council of Constance the commission of his appeal to Master William Maligeneri, papal chaplain and auditor, but died while it was pending. The pope, considering the suit to have been extinguished by the death of Thomas, orders the above to collate and assign to Denis the said deanery, a major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 60 marks; notwithstanding that he is litigating in the Roman court about the rectory of Donmachmor Mugyhymclair in the diocese of Armagh, value not exceeding 12 marks, with which he is hereby dispensed to hold the deanery for life. To the bishop of Dunkeld and the abbots of Saint-Maixent (Sancti Maxencii) and Balmurynagth in the dioceses of Poitiers and St. Andrews. Mandate to collate and assign to William Croyser, canon of Dunkeld, M.A., who has studied in the faculty of theology at Paris, the canonry and prebend of Glasgow and archdeaconry of Teviotdale (Thevidalie), an office with cure, value altogether not exceeding 80l., which became void by the death of James Walteri; notwithstanding that he holds a canonry and prebend of Dunkeld; holds under a grant in commendam, so long as the present wars last, the parish church of Kirkgonzan; formerly had a papal grant of the parish church of Magna Kaveris in the diocese of Glasgow, value not exceeding 6, 20 and 60l. respectively; that the pope has ordered provision to be made to him of a canonry and prebend and the precentorship, a non-major dignity, of Moray, value not exceeding 60l. (cf. the preceding); has dispensed him to hold the precentorship and Magna Kaveris together for three years; and has also lately made provision to him of a benefice with or without cure, even if a canonry and prebend, dignity etc. in the gift of the bishop and chapter of Aberdeen. The period of five years of the said commenda is hereby prolonged for a period of five years only from the time of his obtaining the above archdeaconry, but upon obtaining the archdeaconry he is to resign Magna Kaveris and the canonry and prebend and precentorship of Moray, and the above provision shall, as regards a benefice with cure or a dignity etc., be null.
