To the dean of Brechin. Mandate to receive and admit by papal authority the resignations which, for purpose of exchange, Robert de Tulach, dean of Dunkeld, and Alexander de Lichton, M.A., desire to make of their respective benefices, namely the deanery of Dunkeld, and all right in and to it (provision of which the pope recently on its voidance by the death without the Roman court of Donald Maknachten, previous to which it was reserved to the papal gift, made to the said Robert, who has not had possession) and a canonry and the prebend of Duffus in Moray, of the patronage of laymen, and to collation and assign the said deanery, a major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 40l. sterling, to Alexander, who is also I.U.B., and the said canonry and prebend, value not exceeding 30l. sterling to Robert, who is by both parents of noble race; inducting them, in person or by proctor, after receiving from Alexander the usual oath of fealty according to the form enclosed, and taking care that there be no corruption in the said exchange, etc. Apostolice sedis circumspecta. To John [Kempe] (fn. 3), cardinal priest of St. Balbina's. Faculty to him, who has begun a visitation of the city and diocese of York, that so long as he is engaged in the royal council or parliaments or in arduous business of the realm of England, or is detained by other lawful impediments, or is by order of the pope or of the apostolic see in the Roman court (fn. 4) or otherwise without the said realm, to cause the said visitation to be continued and completed by persons of his choice or by his officials or commissaries for the time being, etc., and to receive the procurations in money, etc. Quanto Romanam ecclesiam.
