May 2. Brussels.
1. Agreement between the Marquis of Caracena, Lieut. Governor of Flanders, and General Monck, for the exchange of prisoners of war. All persons taken in future in any merchant ship on either side, to be forthwith released without ransom. This agreement to continue in force 12 months. [Copy for Jamaica.]
April 24.
2. Commission from the Council of State to Colonel Philip Ward. Appointing him Governor of "the isle or islands of St. Christopher's," with power to choose a Deputy in case of sickness or absence, and six Councillors to assist him in the government. Signed by T. Fairfax, Ol. St. John, W. Pierrepont [sic], Ri. Onslow, Geo. Monck, Gilb. Gerard, J. Swynfen, J. Temple, and H. Morley. [Original on parchment.]
