March 1663

March 9.
Chatham.
Thomas Lewsley to the Navy Commissioners. Reporting on Sir John Banks' elm timber and broom at Aylesford. [S.P. Supplementary 136. No. 87.]
March 9.
Dover.
Thomas Wale to Commissioner Pett at Chatham. At my being at the dock with you, you took notice of fifty oaks of mine lying at Halden a mile from Tenterden, and I was to receive a few lines from you whether you accepted them or not, when you came for London. I have waited ever since and doubt I shall receive some damage because my last payment draws near. Please honour me with ten lines, and I will be at London the next day to wait on you. Should you require security, there is the best part of 200l. of mine in Mr Blackborne's hands. I wish it were in my own. [Ibid. No. 88.]
March 23. Order by the Commissioners for disbanding the Army and discharging the Navy to the treasurers for the six months' assessment for payment to Sir John Lawson of 384l. for his pay as captain of the Old James and the London at 12s. per diem. With his receipt for the same. [S.P. Supplementary 138, No. 24.]
