Jan. 8. Certificate by Stephen Alcock that the four principal Masters Attendant of the Navy were each allowed by the Surveyor of the marine victuals for their board wages 13l. per annum, which was allowed them by the Navy Commissioners on their yearly accounts, which are remaining of record in the Court of Exchequer, and that the said allowance was paid them from 1619 to 31 Dec., 1642, being 23 years. Jan. 12. The Duke of Albemarle, Col. John Birch and William Prynne to the Receiver General of the two months' assessment for Northumberland. Ordering payment of —— to the Mayor of Berwick and two others to be issued by them for disbanding and paying off Richard Bannister's and Capt. Edward Widdrington's companies. [Torn. S.P. Dom., Car. The same to the Receiver General of the assessments in Carnarvonshire. Ordering him, as a considerable sum is wanted at Chester for disbanding and paying off several troops of horse marched that way for their disbanding, to pay 397l. 14s. 6¼d. to Arthur Walley, Mayor of Chester, and also the arrears, if any, of the three months' assessment formerly ordered to be paid to him and to send an account of the money paid to Walley.
