Oct. 2. Certificate by the Commissioners in Hertfordshire by virtue of the Act for granting four subsidies to the commissioners for the same within Caishoe Hundred that Robert Lawes of Hitchin is taxed at Hitchin where he resides and did reside for most of the year before the said taxation for his estate in Hertfordshire or elsewhere in England and Wales for the first two entire subsidies of the said four subsidies. Sir John Bennet to William Bulkeley, receiver general of the taxes in Anglesey. Having been made in the room of Sir William Compton, deceased, treasurer for the 60,000l. and other moneys given to the loyal and indigent officers and finding that moneys ordered for that service, though long due, have not been brought in by the default of those employed by Bulkeley, warning him that, unless he receives satisfaction by the first return of this term, he will enter process in the Exchequer against him and therefore pressing him to the speedy completing of his accounts and the payment in of the moneys in arrear to Major Matthew Bayley, who is continued in that employment.
