1. Grant by the Queen to Edward Herbert, Esq., of the office of Keeper of the Castle of Lyons, commonly called Holt Castle, in the Marches of Wales; and of the manors of Holt, Bromefield, and Yale, parcel of the lands of the late Sir Wm. Stanley, attainted.

May 26. 17. Archbishop Parker to Cecill. Thomas Keys, late Serjeant Porter, has solicited redress at his hands in virtue of his pastoral office. A gentleman, named Culpeper, has married the sister of Leonard Dacre, and as he absents himself from the Communion he has cited him to appear. Incloses,
17. i. Thomas Keys to Archbp. Parker. Prays that he will be a mean to the Queen for mercy, and that, according to the laws of God, he may he permitted to live with his wife. Sandgate Castle, 7 May 1570.

18. Sir John Savage to Cecill. Has used all diligence in the collection of the loan on Privy Seals; and has commanded defaulters to appear before the Council.

22. Edward Horsey to Sir Wm. Cecill. Certain men-of-war are cruizing off the Isle of Wight, under pleas that they are authorized by the Queen of Navarre. Denies that they are succoured by any within the Isle.

24. Bishop Barckley to same. Requests him to obtain licence for him to assign certain lands belonging to the Lordship of Banwell, Somersetshire, for three lives or twenty-one years.

25. James Longworth, Feodary of Warwick, to Sir Anthony Cooke. An escheat has been issued against him and his sureties on account of his office of Feodary. Requests that he will befriend him in this extremity.
