Sept. 2. 9. Receipt of George Williams for the sum of 3l. 13s. 4d. of Francis Armstrong, due to Sir Wm. Cecill.
Sept. 7.
Greenwich.
10. Tho. Harvey to Devonshire. Has sent his letter to my Lord of Worcester, and returns his answer. The Queen is well and merry.
Sept. 9. 11. Jas. Basset to same. The King and Queen displeased that he has been molested and troubled by unworthy persons. The King will see him on his going over to Flanders, who will not be long there, as the writs for a new Parliament are issued. Gives him advice.

12. Devonshire to Sir Tho. Tresham. Thanks him for his letters. His son still remains with him, and is worthy of his father.

13. Sir Wm. Petre to Devonshire. Has received his letter, and is willing to do him any service at Court.

14. Sir Fr. Englefyld to same. The bearer will inform him of the progress made in his affairs, and of Englefyld's opinion as to his proposed journey into Italy.

15. Earl of Devonshire to (Anthony Browne) Lord Montague. Thanks for his good offices, and professes friendship.
Sept. (?) 16–21. Six papers of memoranda, of sundry important matters transacted in Council from the last of August, and in the month of September, during the absence of King Philip in Flanders. With marginal annotations, by the King's authority.
