387. Edward VI. to the Governor and Council. Edw. VI. [Nov. 1551.]

Representing that since the late treaty, in order to good government, he lately appointed the Duke of Northumberland warden general of all his marches, but the like order is not observed for Scotland, as the Lord Ogle deputy warden of the Middle Marches has complained in writing to the Governor, that march meetings are not kept by his opposite, while Lord Conyers deputy warden on the West Marches, has reported the heinous murder by Scotsmen of 4 English subjects, three surnamed Storye the other Dewell.

He therefore trusts they will speedily consider those disorders, and provide a remedy that there may be no interruption of the amity between the realms. Given under his signet. Palace of Westminster, 5th of his reign.
