February 1510

Feb. 19. Sanuto Diaries, v. ix. p. 420. 38. Receipt of Merchants' Letters, dated London, 14th January, how the French ambassador was at length come with the tribute of 50,000 crowns, and had audience of the King on the 13th. Announce also the arrival of a Spanish ambassador, and other details, so that matters with France are supposed to be arranged, and it was thought that nothing more would come of the preparations made for Candlemas day. Anxiety felt at Venice on this account, the hope of aid from England vanishing. Trust that the Pope may do something. It is said that the King of France will not come into Italy this year.
