Kensington.		 Royal warrant to the Earl of Ranelagh to allow as complete (as at the muster of July 1695) Capt. Dally's Company of Grenadiers in Col. Thomas Farrington's Regiment, the recruits thereof being raised in Lancashire and not able to join the Regiment in time to appear at the [said] muster though they were then actually on the march to London and the Company did appear as complete upon Blackheath within 14 days of the muster: all by reason that the royal warrant of 1694–5 Jan. — directed a draft of 23 men out of each Company of said Regiment and by the royal warrant of 1695 June 1 (in order to enable the Captains the better to recruit and fill up their Companies) they were to be allowed as complete from 1694–5 Jan. 1 to 1695 July 1 if they then appeared so at the muster. Same to the Treasury Lords to pay John, bishop of Chichester 136l. 10s. 8d. by levying tallies on him for the like amount for arrears of Tenths for the vicarage of Rye: it being represented by the Mayor &c. of Rye that the vicarage house is so dilapidated that it cannot be made fit for a minister without near as much charge as will build a new one and that the late incumbent William Williams died insolvent leaving his widow in such mean circumstances that she must be beholding to the charity of her friends for subsistence: it further appearing that the Tenths of the vicarage are 32 years in arrear and amount to the above sum. Treasury reference to the Glass Commissioners of the petition of John Dilly, a collector of the Duties on tobacco pipes, earthenware &c. for Coventry and parts adjacent, shewing that he has but a small salary and is become indebted to the King in 66l. 1s. 7d. which he expended in performing his duty: therefore praying remission. Kensington. Royal warrant to the Lords Justices of Ireland to allow in the accounts of the Paymaster General [of the Revenue Ireland] the sum of 1,000l. paid by concordatum to Edward Hoare as so much paid to the Marquess of Winchester for his equipage money as one of the Lords Justices of Ireland: it appearing that in Dec. 1696 Sir William Trumbull, Secretary of State, signified the King's pleasure that a quantity of sea provisions should be made at Cork for the use of the Navy, in pursuance whereof the Lords Justices by warrant of 1696 Dec. 23 directed payment to Edward Hoare of Cork, merchant, of the sums necessary therefor and by the accounts of the Victualling Commissioners it appears that Hoare received sums detailed amounting to 8,488l. 13s. 8d. on said account, which sum included the abovesaid 1,000l. paid by Hoare to said Marquess as abovesaid. Same to same for a patent to pass the great seal of Ireland for a grant to Francis D'La Rue of forfeited estates as follows to the clear yearly value of 397l. 7s. 3¾d.: to be held as of the Castle of Dublin in free and common socage: on his first paying the sum of 185l. for the computed proportion of the expenses of the inquisitions.

III. c. 9] for the 1,484,015l. 1s. 11¾d. for the Disbanding &c. (and which were lent by virtue of the Disbanding Act of 10 Wm. III. c. 1) to be transferred to the Register of the said first named Act in the course &c. as therein prescribed: and further to take in loans not exceeding (together with the above amounts so to be transferred) 1,400,000l. on the said Act [10 Wm. Kensington. Royal warrant to the Lords Justices of Ireland for a patent to pass the great seal of Ireland for a patent to John Burke of the forfeited estate real and personal with all arrears and mesne profits thereof late of him the said John Burke commonly called Lord Bophin, second son to William late of Earl Clanricarde, he having been a Colonel of Foot in the late rebellion and stands outlawed for high treason and his estate forfeited: he having petitioned shewing that by the Articles for the surrender of Galway all persons comprised therein were to have a general pardon and possess all their estate; that his Regiment was in the town at the time of the capitulation but he himself could not be present as he was taken at the battle of Aughrim and thence brought into England but that the Earl of Athlone declared and promised that he was comprised within the said Articles; but hitherto he has not been able to obtain any adjudication for his so being within same, whereby his estate still remains in the hands of the King: and he has since behaved himself loyally and delivered up his sons to be educated by the appointment of the Lords Justices in the Protestant religion. Same to Mr. Burchett. I have read to my Lords your paper entitled 'the Case and Answer of Capt. Caldwell, late Commander of the Anglesey man of war, relating to embezzlements alleged against him of goods on board the St. Peter prize.' The informations herein were given by — Bovet and Samuell Winslow, a midshipman on the Anglesey and Richard Bayly carpenter of same. If the Admiralty Lords are satisfied by the examinations made by a Committee of the House of Commons that he is innocent, the Treasury Lords have no objection to Capt. Caldwell being employed again. Same to the Postmasters General to bestow the agency of the pacquet boats at Falmouth on Richard Waddon of Plympton loco Daniell Gwynne. Ibid, p. 112.
Same to the Surveyor General [of Crown Lands]. The King approves of the proposal for disposing of the rent of 153l. 1s. 4d. per an. issuing out of the manor of Eltham and payable to the Crown on the death of the Queen Dowager and also the reversion of the manor, as towards the estimate of the charge of purchasing lands towards enlarging Windsor Little Park.
