Memorandum: upon this last mentioned gross article of 18,717l. 1s. 1d. we humbly observe that on requiring the particulars thereof, Mr. Holbech, of the Treasurer of the Chamber's Office, answered that their bills are numerous and of long standing and where several of them are concerned in one and the same service are very intricate and irregular, by reason of which together with the frequent deaths and the exchanges and transfers of their bills and services no regular account of their respective names and sums could there [in the Treasurer of the Chamber's Office] be kept otherways than in gross, nor can any particular be made out till a general payment be ordered them, on which they will make out their individual claims.
