Treasury subscription for the execution of a Lord Chamberlain's warrant dated March 14 to the Master of the Great Wardrobe for the provision of black cloth hangings for the Guard Chamber at St. James's, the Presence Chamber, the Privy Chamber and Drawing Room; the Queen's Great Bedchamber to be hung with purple cloth with window curtains, portiers and covers for the chairs of the same, with a looking glass, table and stands of purple lacker wood: her Majesty's Little Bedchamber, Waiting Room and Dressing Room to be hung with a light grey cloth, the window curtains, chairs and stools suitable to the rooms.
Likewise for covering with mourning the Prince of Denmark's Guard Chamber, Presence Chamber and Privy Chamber in the same manner as those rooms are to be on her Majesty's side; his Highness's Bedchamber to be hung with light fine grey cloth with window curtains and covers of chairs of the same: all which are to be provided with all possible haste; and for mourning for the Prince of Denmark's Guard Chamber and Privy Chamber. Same for same of a same of the 14th inst. for mourning, detailed, for the Chapel Royal at St. James's viz. the Queen's Closett in the said Chapel to be hung with purple cloth, one armed chair, one foot stool and cushion of purple cloth, a purple cloth carpet to hang over the Closett into the Chapel: an Altar piece and covering for the Communion Table with covering for the Footpace within the rails of the Altar and steps to kneel on, with coverings for the Bible and three Common Prayer Books on the altar: all to be covered with black cloth: one black ring of cloth all round the Chapel: the Dean's seat with curtains and canopy with covering for his Lordship's books and 3 cushions, pulpit cloth and cushion all of black cloth: for the Reading Desk and Litany Desk with the step to be covered with the same: 2 dozen of cushions for the Lords' seat and coverings for 4 dozen of large Prayer Books, to be covered with black cloth; with cushions for the archbishop of Canterbury and the Lord Keeper. Same for same of a same of the 12th inst. for delivery to same of a black cloth canopy, a chair of state, a cushion and 2 stools for the Privy Chamber at Kensington, 10 stands covered with black cloth, a pall of black velvet 7 yards long and 7 broad and a large sheet of fine Holland of 7 breadths and 6½ ells long for the late King's funeral. Treasury warrant to the Postmasters General to allow 28l. 6s. 9d. in account to Thomas Atkinson, postmaster of Cockermouth Co. Cumberland, sent by him by mail to London but robbed near Tuxford Co. Treasury subscription for the execution of a warrant by Gilbert, bishop of Sarum, Chancellor of the Order of the Garter, to the Master of the Jewel House to deliver a Great Collar of the said Order, an enamelled George appendant, a plain gold George and Garter of blue velvet with gold letters, buckle and pendant to Wriothesley, Duke of Bedford, late elected a Knight Companion of the Garter. Royal warrant to the Master of the Great Wardrobe (countersigned by the bishop of Sarum as Chancellor of the Garter: and subscribed by the Treasury Lords April 24 for execution) for the delivery to the bishop of Winchester as Prelate of the said Order and to the bishop of Sarum as Chancellor of the same, of mantles or robes, detailed: and the like for Dr. Gregory Hascard, Dean of Windsor and Register of the said Order; to Sir Thomas St. George, Garter Principal King of Arms; and Sir David Mitchell, Usher of the Black Rod all as follows: viz. for the Prelate and Chancellor each of them a mantle or robe 18 yards of purple or violet coloured velvet and 10 yards of white taffata for the lining thereof with the St. George Cross embroidered within a Garter to be placed on the right shoulder with the motto upon it "Honi soit que mal y pense"; the letters and purle of damask gold and pearle, with cordons of purple silk and gold and tassels of the same; and moreover for the Chancellor a purse of blue velvet wherein to bear the seals of the Order the foreside thereof to be richly embroidered with our royal arms impaled with St. George's Cross environed with a Garter (and over it an Imperial Crown) with fine Venice gold and silver pearles and plates and variety of coloured Naples silk having a fair running work about it:
and further to deliver to Dr. Gregory Hascard, Dean of Windsor and Register of the said Order; to Sir Thomas St. George, Garter Principal King at Arms, and Sir David Mitchell Kt. Usher of the Black Rod, for their liveries each 15 yards of scarlet satin for a robe and 10 yards of white taffata for lining of the same with an escutcheon of St. George placed on the left shoulder, as also cordons and tassels of scarlet silk and Venice gold; and moreover for the said Register a book to be sworn before him, covered with crimson velvet and thereupon embroidered two pens in saltire within a Garter and over it an A and an R with an Imperial Crown wrought with Venice gold and silver pearls and plates of gold and silver flourished with Naples silk of several colours. The like for a mantle and surcoat of the said Order for Wriothesley, Duke of Bedford, lately elected a Knight Companion thereof viz. a large mantle of blue velvet lined with white taffaty with an escutcheon of St. George's Cross within a Garter, wrought with letters and pearls of gold, to set on the left shoulder, together with large strings and tassels of blue silk and gold; a surcoat of crimson velvet with a hood of the same both lined with white taffaty; and a gilt sword with scabbard, girdle and hangers of crimson velvet.

Treasury subscription for the execution of a Lord Chamberlain's warrant to the Master of the Great Wardrobe for the following necessaries for the King's funeral viz. hanging the Great Bedchamber at Kensington with purple cloth with a [canopy of] State of the same for the late King's body to lie under; a pall of purple velvet to lay over the body; hanging with black cloth the Great Drawing Room at Kensington and the Landing Place, the Passage Gallery, the Guard Chamber and Staircase to be hung with a ring of black cloth. Likewise to deliver to the Yeoman of the Removing Wardrobe a canopy of purple cloth with 10 staves to carry over the body in Westminster Abbey: all as ordered by the Queen in Council.
