Sept. 8. Treasury Chambers, Cockpit.	[attendance not stated]. The Governor and Company of the Bank of England having this day resolved to lend 84399l. 5s. 0d. into the Exchequer to complete 1,800,000l. on this year's Land Tax this minute is entered pursuant to my Lord Treasurer's direction in his letter from Bath of the 5th inst. [so] that in case the said sum or any part thereof be not repaid by Michaelmas 1704 then his Lordship is resolved that the same together with the interest thereof shall be satisfied out of some other fund. Ibid.
September 21. Treasury Chambers, Cockpit.	[attendance not stated]. This day pursuant to the Lord Treasurer's order of the 15th inst. from the Bath Mr. Lowndes received a proposition from Sir Stephen Evance and partners for remitting 160000l. to Holland at the following days and at the exchange rate of 10 guilders 10½ stivers for the whole ; and similarly another proposition from Sir Henry Furnese to remit the like amount by 30000l. at sight and 30000l. at 20 days at the rate of 10 guilders 10 stivers 30000l. at 40 days and 30000l. at 50 days and 40000l. at 60 days at the rate of 10 guilders 11 stivers. "It manifestly appears that the proposition of Sir Henry Furnese is the best and is therefore accepted in pursuance of the said order." Ibid., p. 131.
