June 1. Present : Lord Godolphin, Sir H. Capell, Mr. Hampden.
The Attorney and Solicitor General to attend on Monday afternoon next about the Proclamation concerning Hearthmoney arrears, the derelict lands, the Duchess of Cleveland's patent out of the Post Office, about seizing of arms etc. imported, and the bill for the late Queen's estate.
The Agents for Taxes to attend on Monday afternoon next about securities [to be taken] of the Receivers of the Poll.
Alderman Duncombe to attend on Tuesday afternoon about money to be returned into the north.
The Navy Commissioners to attend on Tuesday afternoon about the Chatham Chest.

To speak with the Board of Ordnance "when they come [hither to the Treasury] upon a letter dated 3rd inst. relating to the shipping of coals for the service of Ireland.
Write Mr. Toll that if any of the Receivers of the Aid [in their respective counties] find it convenient to pay their money there [to said Toll for the various Regimental Agents] and said Toll do draw bills on the Earl of Ranelagh [as Paymaster of the Forces the Treasury will put said Earl in funds "to answer it in the Exchequer here [to the account of said Receivers]."
Write Sir R. Howard [Auditor of the Receipt] to deliver such Dutch money as is in the Exchequer to the Earl of Ranelagh upon account for the Forces in Holland.
The Customs Commissioners to attend on Friday afternoon next.

A list of such Receivers of the Poll as have not taken out their commissions is to be delivered to the [Taxes] Agents.

Money to be issued the Wednesday before the 8th of July for the Chest of Chatham, viz. 5,000l.

The Customs Commissioners to send a list of all such of their officers as complied upon the questions [required of them under James II as to approving] of repealing the Penal laws [against Catholics] etc. and of such as were removed upon refusal.
Sir Benjamin Bathurst promised to attend on Friday afternoon next.
The Attorney and Solicitor General to attend on Tuesday afternoon next about the Hearthmoney arrears, upon a presentment from the Excise Commissioners.

The Agents of all the Forces in Holland are to attend on Thursday morning about sending the clothes.
The ship that carries ammunition to Edinburgh must carry the 3,000l. in Scotch money that Mr. Evans proposes to furnish. Mr. Evans to attend to-morrow afternoon about the Scotch money.
To take care speedily to pay 2,000l. for the works at Hull.
The Earl of Shrewsbury to prepare a warrant for the sign manual according to a former direction in the time of Charles II [to order] that no leases or grants of any of the lands etc. in the Duchy [of Lancaster] do pass without docquets [thereof being seen by and signed] from the Treasury Lords.
The Excise Commissioners to attend to-morrow afternoon about the Proclamation for the Hearthmoney.

The Navy Commissioners to write to the Commissioners at ... (struck through).
An information having been given to my Lords, by a paper delivered in by Mr. Vere, of some money belonging to the Duke of Berwick being left in a portmanteau the [Navy] Commissioner at Chatham is to examine Mary Hillyard (daughter of Mr. Hillyard, a ship carpenter there) thereupon.
Sir Sam. Dashwood, Sir W. Ashurst, Mr. Child and Mr. Evans to attend on Friday morning next about the City loans.
Major Wildman to attend on Saturday afternoon next about Mr. Frowde's petition.

Sir Samuel Dashwood, Mr. Child and Mr. Evans called in about the repayment of the money lent by the City to the King when Prince. Agreed that 8,000l. a week be set aside out of the Excise from July 10 next [and so] to continue till the debt be discharged.

The King came in.
The King being moved concerning the docquets for the Prizes Commissioners, viz. that the warrant ought to have begun at this the Treasury Board, was pleased to declare his pleasure that it should do so ; but in regard that that business required a present despatch his Majesty directed that the Commission should proceed at present but that the right of the Treasury Board should be saved and that for the future such warrants should begin here.

Mr. Blathwaite called in about credit to be given to Monsieur Scravemore for the encampments for 5,000l. Ordered that the Customs Commissioners direct the collectors of the ports of Chester, Liverpool and Whitehaven to pay to Scravemore any sum he requires not exceeding 2,000l. upon account for the encampments in those parts. Write Mr. Squibb to give him notice of it.
Mr. Bertie ordered to have 1,500l. for the ordinary [of the Office of Ordnance] ; 300l. for the [fortifications of the] Isle of Wight ; 2,300l. for the [artillery] train going for Ireland.
Order for 2,000l. to the Great Wardrobe : "the same being advanced upon the Aid."

The officers of the Mint to give an account of the patent to [the] Roetiers, the engravers at the [Mint in the] Tower, viz. the term of their office, their salary and how they behave themselves therein.
Ordered that 2,000l. be issued to Mr. Bertie for the ordinary [of the Office of Ordnance] and 2,000l. for the [artillery] train for Ireland.
Ordered that 500l. be issued to Lord Coote for the Queen.
Speak to the Commissioners of Prizes that when the prisoners are delivered over to them they take care to clear [pay] the charges the Custom House officers have been at in keeping them.
The Attorney General to attend to-morrow afternoon about the assessment on the Temple.
The King's Remembrancer to attend to-morrow afternoon about Mr. Watson, for derelict lands.
The Agents for Taxes to attend to-morrow afternoon.
Get an extract from the [Privy] Council of the order made there yesterday about bringing up the money of the Aid out of the country.
