The volume also details the parishes of the two hundreds of Blackheath and Bromley and Beckenham, including several parishes which now form part of metropolitan London. These include Charlton, Deptford, Greenwich, Lewisham and Woolwich.

Details four hundreds in the lathe of Sutton-at-Hone (Westerham and Edenbridge; Brasted; Somerton, and Codsheath) and two in the lathe of Aylesford on the north Kent coast (Toltringtrough and Shamwell.) Includes accounts of the towns of Gravesend, Shoreham and Westerham.

The second volume on Canterbury continues the history of the cathedral and also includes accounts of other religious houses in the city, including the abbey of St Augustine. The volume also gives substantial biographical accounts of the archbishops and archdeacons of Canterbury.
