Leave of Absence.

SIR Wm. Strowd asketh Leave of the House to go home for some few Days. It is granted, in respect of his good Attendance, and that he meant to return.

Free Grammar School.

Mr. Wentworth delivereth in the Bill, from the Re-commitment, touching the Incorporating of the Town of Northlech, with Amendments; and, upon the Question, to be ingrossed.

The Counsel in the Bill for Mrs. Cavendish. -

Mr. Finch, for the Bill; Mr. Richison, contra.

Upon deliberate Hearing, re-committed to examine the Matter of Proof.

Message from the King.

Mr. Speaker, from the Beginning [a].

That there is a Fame come to the King, divulged, for which he is grieved. -

It is made common in the Mouths, that there is some violent Proceedings, and undue, upon the Borders, in the Person of one Barrowe. - It is grievous to him. - As a Partiality to the Scottish. His Majesty protests against it: Desirous to clear this Question, being now to go into their Countries, that the Fame may be stopt: Desired, that one, that knows all the Particulars, one Sir William Seaton, might be heard in the Relation. - The Members of this House already satisfied. . . .

Great Question, where he should stand: Whether come in with the Mace. -

A Yard within the Bar: Agreed, out of a Respect to the Scottish Nation, and the King's Message.

Sir Wm. Seaton speaks within the Bar, being admitted, upon his Majesty's Pleasure signified; and relates the particular Proceedings, upon the Borders, with the Lard a Barrowe. -
