Heron's Estate.

L. 1a. An Act for confirming the Sale of certain Lands, sold by Sir Edw. Heron unto Bevell Molesworth Esquire, and enabling the said Sir Ed. Heron to make Sale of other Lands, for the Payment of his Debts, and Settling of certain Manors, Salt-marshes, and other Lands, upon Robert Heron, and Edw. Heron, Sons of the said Sir Ed. Heron, in Recompence of the same.

Courts of Justice.

Sir Rob. Philips reports from the Committee for Courts of Justice. - Himself sat in the Chair. Some Petitions exhibited. Their Power somewhat defective. The Committees desire to have their Power enlarged, to send for Witnesses, hear Counsel, and send for Records.

Ordered, That this Committee for Courts of Justice, shall have Power to send for all Witnesses, that may further the Employment of that Service ; that they shall have Power to hear Counsel; and to have the Sight of all Records ; Power also to assign Counsel.

Abuses in Exchequer.

Sir Ed. Coke, Sir Rob. Philips, Mr. Wyld, Sir Nath. Rich, Sir Fra. Seymour, Sir Will. Strode, Sir Rich. Spencer, Sir Edw. Peyton, Mr. Solicitor, Sir Edw. Gyles, Sir Will. Fleetwood, Sir Myles Fleetwood, Mr. Pym, Sir Dud. Diggs, Mr. Askue, Sir Hen. Poole, Sir Geo. Manners, Sir Jo. Savyle, Sir Pet. Hayman, Mr. Sawyer, Sir Maxim. Dallison, Mr. Cage, Mr. Bankcroft: This Committee to examine the particular Abuses in Fees, or otherwise, in the Exchequer : Monday next, Two a Clock; and so every Monday: - Exchequer Chamber, This Committee also to have Power to send for any, and to see Records. No Exchequer-men to be of the Committee.

Papists.

Sir Jo. Jepson : - Said Yesterday in the House, that the Papists have Cause to be desperate. -

To consult securely. - To send friendly, to desire my Lord Mayor to send us 200 Men, to guard our Persons, whiles we treat of these weighty Matters.

Sir Ed. Cecill : -

Chancellor Duchy : - Probable Fears affect wise Men, not possible.

Mr. Knightley: - To have all the Knights of Shire send down to their several Counties, and return the Number of Papists to the King.

Mr. Drake : - A young Gentleman, of their Country, sent to the Inns of Court, and seduced by the Papists. Afterwards, being sent for home by his Friends, and wrought to his own Religion, - found in his Trunk a Coat of Mail, a Head-piece, and a Case of Pistols, - Had this Direction given him, by them, to prepare himself.

Sir Tho. Jermin: - To have this Motion cease, - To run the same Fortune with the Lords.

Alienations.

L. 1a. An Act for the Ease in the Obtaining of Licences of Alienation, and in the Pleading of Alienations with Licence, or of Pardons of Alienations without Licence, in the Court of Exchequer or elsewhere.

Attainted Persons Debts.

L. 1a. An Act for making the Estates of attained Persons liable to the Payment of their due and just Debts.

Sheriffs, &c. Accounts.

L. 1a. An Act for Passing of Accounts for Sheriffs', Escheators, Collectors of Subsidies, Tenths, Fifteens, and Aids, without Charge or Delay.

Drunkenness.

L. 2a. An Act for the better Repressing of Drunkenness, and Restraining the inordinate Haunting of Inns, Alehouses, and other Tipling-houses.
