Sir Geo. Moore beginneth the Motion touching the Report Yesterday: Offereth a Writing; which was twice read.

The grand Committee ordered presently to sit.

Clergy Subsidy.

Mr. Speaker ascended again; and Mr. D. Amye, Sir Jo. Tyndall, Sir Geo. Coppin, bring from the Lords, the Act for the Subsidy of the Clergy.

THE Subsidy of the Clergy : 6. s. in the Pound : Passed.

Tenures, &c.

The Committee sat.

Mr. Speaker ascended again.

Sir Edwyn Sandys reporteth the Articles, surveyed again, and amended ; and a Question made.

Sir Rob. Harley: - That only our Offer of 200,000l, and the King's Letters, might be recorded.

Mr. Hoskins. -

Sir Jerome Horsey: - Compared to a Particular of a Manor. - Two Words to a Bargain. - That the Lords would advise, and propound us good Security; and that we might have good Security.

Mr. Dyett: - That we have an Answer to our Grievances ; and the Assurance to be projected.

Sir Edwyn Sandys: - touching the Course to be held in the Conference touching the Levy. - Wholly upon the Land. -

Answ. That we do not mean false, failing, unsound Projects. -

That we will not, upon their Meat, Drink, Corn, or other Thing, exclusive. -

That Copies of the Articles may go into every Country. - .

No great News of good Laws; but Comfort in the Redemption ; good News for the Grievances. -

The Clerk to make the last Propositions. -

Reservation of essential Points to the Bargain, though in small Matters, we will not stand upon it. -

Answer to these new. -

The Articles to be entered here, and the Offers. -

The Assurance to be entered; and as good as can be. -

The Manner of Levy, so as may stand with his Majesty's, and the Subjects, Good.

Sir Wm. Maynard: - Upon Three Conditions, or no Contract: - If possible to levy; if assure; if the King assent to such as shall be propounded hereafter.

Mr. Alford: - That no Intimation of more upon the Land, than 100,000l.

Q. For a Conference : - Resolved.

Q. For Sir Edwyn Sandys to propound to the Lords, as he hath delivered: - According to his own Direction, saving in the Matter of Levy.
