L. 1. AN Act for the Enabling of Jo. Yew, Clothier, to make Sale of some Lands, for Payment of his Debts.

Sir H. Poole, - for a Provision, for going into another Parish for Gravel; that it be at seasonable Times, when Corn and Grass may not be hurt; and to have it defined, what a Yard-land in Pasture.

Mr. Amnerst moveth, that the Committee may consider how Provision may be made by the Committee, for Relief of Sussex, Surry, and Kent.

Mr. Alford, - against the Taxation of One Parish to help another; for One Parish will do it, to help and ease themselves. - To make this Bill a Probationer. -

Bridges.

L. 2. An Act for the Building and Repairing of Bridges. -

Mr. Brackyn. - That Cambridge ever maintained by Pontage. - Moveth therefore, that these Bridges which maintained by Pontage, may be still maintained so.

Sir Ro. Johnson moveth an Addition of a Proviso some Bridges in Wales.

Mr. Ashley - against the Bill; for that one Trial peremptory, and the Party hath no Remedy. - For Travers in other Cases. - And against the Restraint to the adjacent Counties.

Sir J. Savile : - That Letters Patents for taking Toll at Bridges repaired by the Country. - Moveth for a Provision against this. -

L. 2. An Act for the bettter observing and keeping holy the Sabaoth-day, or Sunday. -

Mr. Glanvyle moveth for an Addition against Foot-ball upon the Sabaoth-day; which not provided for by this Bill.

Mr. Fanshaw moveth against the Carriers travelling upon the Sabaoth-day - That the Penalty before against unlawful Games before, greater than this ; and therefore moveth for the Enlargement of the Penalty ; else but a Mockery.

Sir Tho. Hobby. - That, in a Case like this. Two Justices committed to Prison. - Moveth, that a Justice of Peace committing any, may, in an Action brought, plead the general Issue; and it may be laid in the County were done.

Mr. Amnerst moveth against Resort to Alehouses on the Sabaoth-day.

Mr. Hyde: - That no Means here for the Conviction : - Moveth for Freedom for Arrests upon that Day.

Mr. Fuller, accordant; for that Judgments and Proclamations, that Day, void.

Sir R. Payne reneweth Mr. Amnerste's Motion; and, to have a double Penalty upon the Alehouse-keeper, and Offender.

Mr. Davys commendeth the Bill: Addeth to the Provision against Carriers; as also against writing in Offices, and hearing of Causes.

Mr. Ashley -

Sir Jo. Savyle addeth Apparitors, and Sommnors to the Bailiffs.

Mr. Connocke .- - That if the Sheriff see the Party, he must arrest him on the Sabaoth-day.

Sir Rich. Pawlett: - Sabaoth-day, or Sunday, commonly called, the Sunday.

Sir A. Cope reneweth the Motion for Carriers. - That the Judges take a Course, in their Circuits, to observe it in their own Persons.

Mr. Finch moveth, to put all the Things now doubted of, into another Bill.

Mr. Smyth moveth against working on the Sabaoth, wherein the Lawyers most faulty.

Sir Cary Reynolds, and Sir Edw. Mountague, and Mr. Crew. -

Sir Lyonell Cranfeild offereth his Patent to be read. This referred to the Committee for Petitions; and Sir Lyonell Cranfeild then to bring it to them.

L. 1. An Act for the Naturalization of Eliz. Vere and Mary Vere, Daughters of Sir Horace Vere Knight.
