L. 1a. AN Act for the Establishing and Confirming of the Foundation of the Hospital of King James, founded in Charter-house, in the County of Middlesex, at the humble Petition, and only Costs and Charges, of Tho. Sutton Esquire, and of the Possessions thereof.

L. 1a. An Act for the further Reformation of sundry Abuses committed on the Lord's Day, commonly called Sunday.
Grievances - Wine Merchants.
Sir Edw. Coke reporteth from the Committee for Grievances, the Case of the Merchants trading Wines, re-committed unto them from the House, upon the former Report. -
A new Imposition, last December, of 20s. per Tun: A Patent, under the Great Seal of England, to Lownes and Norman, for Collection thereof. -
That, upon Consideration of all the Council's Letters, Committee of the same Opinion, as formerly.
1. His Majesty to be petitioned, that the Bonds in the Exchequer may be cancelled, and no further Proceeding to be had thereupon.
2ly. That the Wine-merchants imprisoned for refusing to pay this new Imposition, may be enlarged.
3ly, That this Imposition may be absolutely taken off.
Sir Edw. Coke, Sir Ro. Phillippes, Sir D. Digges, Mr. Packer, Sir Nath. Rich, Sir Ben. Rudyard, Sir Jo. Ellyott, Mr. Hackwyll: This Sub-committee to frame this Petition to his Majesty : Two Clock, To-morrow, Court of Wards.
The 13s. 4d. set upon the Out-ports, to be included in the same Petition, and to be considered of by the same Sub-committee.

A Message from the Lords, by Mr. Serjeant Crew and Mr. Attorney-general; That the Lords have moved the King, and he hath signified his Pleasure, that he will be ready to receive the Petition of both Houses, at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Banqueting-house.
Answer returned by the same Messengers; That [this] House will, with their Lordships, attend his Majesty at the said Time and Place.
Upon Question, Resolved, Mr. Speaker not to go; it being intended to be only a Committee of both Houses.
Mr. Secretary Coke to make the Report; and Sir Nath. Rich, and Mr. Pymme, to assist him.
