Leave of Absence.

Mr. John Pyne hath Liberty to go into the Country, upon special Occasion.

Dr. Worrall.

Upon Report from the Committee for Courts of Justice, Ordered, The Serjeant shall leave a Note at Dr. Worrall's House, or Lodging, that there are divers Complaints against him in this House; and that, if he will, he may be heard before the said Committees, upon Tuesday next, concerning the said Complaints.

Clergymen not to be Justices.

Mr. Whitakers reporteth the Bill, for Clergymen not to be Justices of Peace, with some Alterations, and One Addition. - Engrossetur. -

Dyell's, &c, Nat.

Mr. Bankes reporteth Sir Ro. Dyell's Bill. - Engrossetur. -

Payment to Witnesses, &c.

Mr. Hemsworth, and Mr. Thomson to pay the 20l. to Mr. Hoyle, to be distributed to the Witnesses, according to the former Order.

To pay the Clerk and Serjeant their Fees, and then their Submission to be accepted.

Grievances- Clegatt's Case.

Sir Edw. Coke reporteth from the Committee for Grievances, Clegatt's Case. - That the Committee held, the City might make Acts of Common Council, so as consonant to Law, and Reason : 2ly, For Sewers, Buildings, &c. 3ly, For regulating Trade. 4ly, For Triumphs, and other Honour of the City. But, that the Opinion of the Committee, that Clegatt, in this Case, for not agreeing to lend towards the late Contract, with his Majesty, for Lands, was unlawfully imprisoned.

Upon Question, super totam materiam, the Commitment of Clegatt unlawful.

2ly, Upon Question, a Petition to go from this House to the King for Enlargement of Clegatt.

Mr. Pymme, Sir Nath. Rich, Mr. Sherland, Mr. Waller, Sir D. Digges, Mr. Packer, the Two Aldermen, Mr. Bunch, to draw it: - To meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Court of Wards.

Prisoners brought up.

Alderman Hemsworth, and Sheriff Thomson, having paid their Fees to the Clerk and Serjeant, and the 20l. to Mr. Hoyle, called in, and kneeling, acknowledged their

Offence, in undue Preparing and Returning of Sir Tho. Savyle, a Citizen for Yorke, to serve in this Parliament.

Answer to King's Message.

The Matter of the Answer to the King's Message Yesterday. - Upon Question, this House, resolved into a Committee, shall take into Consideration the several Messages, now read, and what Course fittest, for making Answer to his Majesty's Message Yesterday. Mr. Herberte to have the Chair.

Upon Question, the Key to be brought, and no Member to go out, without the Leave of the Committee.

The House turned into a grand Committee.
