CHANCERY - Stay of Trial for Mr. Pelham, in a Cause concerning Mr. Alford.

Moor-burning, reported by Mr. Brook: - Ingrossetur. - "Warwickshire:" - Question whether to be put out:

Sir Edw. Grevill moved to have Warwickshire excepted.

Remanding of Offenders.

L. 1. - Better Execution of Justice, and Suppressing of criminal Offenders, &c. - Remanding.

Tenures and Wardships.

The Form of an Answer to be given the Lords, brought in, in Writing, by Sir Maurice Berkley, and read, first by the Clerk, and then by Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Bond: - Seemed an impertinent Speech, and much Hissing and Spitting. - Conceived for a Rule; that Mr. Speaker may stay impertinent Speeches. - Mr. Speaker.

Sir Wm. Twysden: - That a Reason may be added in the Matter of Tenures. - We had Care of the Support, as well as the Lords. -

Precedent 13 E. III. The Commons pray, that they may go into the Country, and receive a Resolution and Authority from them.

Sir Wm. Cope: - That, in the Answer, we have set down the Manner of the Levy, which is not yet agreed on, or disputed.

Mr. Recorder : - Abused every Commission. - Pretences and Importunity. - Levying, Receiving, and Paying Fines, into the Exchequer. -

His Course: - Mean Parties forfeited, - the Sheriffs returned nichil: - From these the Bed, the Pot, the Spoon. -

Colour: - Kept Traytors Goods: - From Babington:

- Seized all the rest by Colour of these, - A House. - Brought all the Things unto him, in a House at St. Katherine's. -

Propounds. 20s. to the King, 2s. to my Lord Treasurer's, Dorsett, Secretary; then to be exempted. - Breaks

Chests for Satisfaction: - Shewed the King's Hand, which was given him for One Purpose: - He useth to all. -

Pay thus much to me, I will dispense with you. - Took upon him to be Justice of Peace himself.

Sir Rob. Johnson: - That first he might be remitted of the King's Imprisonment, then to be dealt with as we please.

Mr. Speaker: - His Majesty's Pleasure, by Sir Roger Aston, never to employ him again : To leave him to our own Censures.

Mr. Martin: - That Sir Stephen may be made our Prisoner, and so proceed against him.

Sir Carye Raleigh: - That -

Sir Stephen Proctor to be committed to the Serjeant.

On Wednesday, his Day, to be convented, and charged; in the mean time, Informations to be gathered by Mr. Speaker.

Sir Stephen convented: - His Judgment, by Mr. Speaker, to be committed to the Serjeant.

Much Question touching the Words, " levying upon the Lords and Owners."

Mr. Attorney: - The Words needless, and doth much prejudge our Proceeding in the Levy.
