THE Drawing a Bill for Elections, &c. - Mr. Hackwyll, Mr. Glanvile, Mr. Recorder, Sir Geor. Moore, Sir Jo. Heale's Bill.

Mr. Glanvyle reporteth Sir W. Heale's Bill with Amendments.

Mr. Mallett: - That this Power to Sir W. Heale, a Matter of 10,000 l. - Doubteth, whether Sir Francis Heale his Consent be to the Bill, or not. Moveth, it may stay, till his Assent certified.

Sir Edw. Gyles; - Knoweth Sir Francis Heale did, last Meeting in Parliament, and at divers other Times, consented. -

Thanks to Lords.

Sir Edw. Coke hath Power to give the Lords Thanks for their good Correspondency with this House. -

Hele's Bill.

Mr. Hele affirmeth his Brother's Consent.

Sir Edw. Coke: - The general Assurance of the Realm is, the Father Tenant for Life, Remainder to his first Son, &c. - Will never consent to bind any Infant.

Sir W. Earle; - That it concerneth an Infant of 12 Years old. - To recommit it.

Sir H. Poole: - Against all Bills of this Nature, where the Inheritance taken away from an Infant, upon the Conveyance made by his Ancestor; but here being but to make Leases, as Tenant in Tail, thinketh it reasonable.

Mr. Wentworth: - That this Bill giveth more Power for making Leases, than Tenant in Tail hath.

Upon the Question, this Bill re-committed : And Sir W. Earle, and Mr. Wentworth, Sir Rich. Bulwer, Sir Edw. Coke, Mr. Christofer Earle, Mr. Chancellor of the Duchy, added. - Thursday next, in the Exchequer Court.

Hall and Fuller's Case.

Sir John Jephson moveth for a Day, for Counsel between Sir Jo. Hall, and Mr. Fuller : - To assign him One of the Three, whose Names he hath; and a Page, that made an Affidavit, to be present.

Sir Geor. Moore : - The Offence great, yet no Provision against it. - A certain Penalty, not arbitrary. - Fit to have a Law against it.

Sir Edw. Mountague: - An Hour spent here, better than Ten at a Committee. - That a Law hath passed this House, wherein Distinction of Degrees for the Penalty.

Sir Edw. Sands : - That more Swearing in England, than in all Christendom. - Not to sit here, to reform Grievances of the Commonwealth, and leave those, which concern God. - Swearing of Children great: No Money to be had from them ; nor Stocks. - Every Master, and Father, to take care of it. - That the Example of the great ones hath occasioned this great Abuse. That the Penalty of 10s. not so fit: Too little for some, too great for others.
