Clopton's Estate.

L.1a. AN Act to assure the Manor of Kentwell, and divers others Manors, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, late Sir Wm. Clopton's Knight, deceased, to Walter Clopton, and his Heirs, according to the true Meaning of the said Sir Wm.

Prisoners.

L. 2a. An Act for the Setting on Work, and Instruction in Religion, of such, as are committed to the Gaol: - Committed to Sir Tho. Fanshaw, Sir H. Poole, Sir H. Whyteheade, Sir S. Weston, Sir Wm. Poley, Sir H. Grimston, Mr. Langston, Sir Capell Bedells, Sir Nath. Napper, Mr. Drake: And all, that will come, to have Voice. - Monday, Two Clock, Court of Wards.

Imposition on Wines.

Mr. Noy reporteth from the Committee, about the Imposition upon Wines, that they have resolved, the best Course for their Relief, is by Petition; and tendereth a Draught of a Petition to this Purpose: Which twice read.

Exception being taken to the Word "poor Commons," with Motion to make it, " the Commons House;" Resolved, To let it stand, " poor Commons," according to the ancient Manner of Petitions.

The Draught agreed, upon Question; and to be written fair, and presented to the King, annexed to the former Petition, written fair. This to be fair written against To-morrow Morning, and then to be read.

Grievances.

Mr. Whitby reporteth from the Committee for Grievances a Petition of divers Merchants of Callice, taken, and kept as Prize ; and a Petition of one Willes.

Upon Question, the 1st Petition to be no further proceeded in here, but left to their ordinary Course of Law.

The last Petition of Willes referred to a select Committee, for Examination of the Truth thereof; and to report the same to the House. -

Ingram : - Power to send for any Books, or Writings, they shall think fit. - To-morrow Afternoon, Court of Wards.

Conference reported.

Mr. Pymme reporteth from the Conference with the Lords, the Speech of the Lord of Canterbury. - That the Lords have desired this Meeting.......

Sir Nath. Rich: - That, after this Speech delivered by the Lord Canterbury, the Lord Chamberlain...........

Moved, a Committee, to consider what Answer fit to be given the Lords, and then to go on with our Business.

Upon Question, the House to sit this Afternoon, at Three Clock, to debate of the Answer of the Council of War ; and the Committees to sit in the mean time ; and the Lawyers enjoined to attend then,

Council of of War.

1. UPON Question, this Answer, delivered in by the Council of War, is insufficient; and that they ought to make a full and particular Answer unto it.

2ly, Upon Question, the Council of War, mentioned in the Act of Parliament, to be called in severally, in such Order as the House shall direct.

3ly, Upon Question, to call in first him of the Council of War, which is last named, and so to ascend, according to ...

4ly, This to be done To-morrow.

Resolved, A Warrant to issue, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, for all the Council of War, named in the Act, to appear To-morrow.

Resolved, To put every one of this Council of War to answer this Question particularly, and by Word of Mouth.
