Prayers.

London Orphans Fund.

A PETITION of Frances Bradbury, Ellen Pank, and Grace Bell, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That the Sum of 250 l. was put into the Chamber of London, by Tho. Bradbury, deceased, the Petitioners Father; who took the City's Bond for the Security thereof, at small Interest, as thinking it the securest Place; and which he intended as a Provision for the Petitioners, who are in mean Condition: That, if the City-Revenues be disposed towards Satisfaction of the Orphans of the said City, the Petitioners must lose their said Debt: And praying, that they may be equally relieved with the said City-Orphans.

Ordered, That the Examination and Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Consideration of the Petition of the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Common-Council, of the City of London, relating to the Orphans, is referred.

Ditto.

A Petition of Nicholas Smith Clerk, Curate of Scamblesby in the County of Lincolne, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That Herbert Thornedike, Doctor in Divinity, did, by his last Will, leave, in the Hands of Dr. Sandcroft, some Money, and an Impression of Latin Books, to be made up 1,000 l. for augmenting the Curacy of Scamblesby: That, in March 1677, Dr. Sandcroft sold the said Books; the Amount whereof, together with the ready Money, came to Eight hundred Pounds, which he paid into the Chamber of London, and took Bond for securing the same with Interest, which remains all unpaid: And praying equal Relief with the City-Orphans.

Privilege— a Person reprimanded, and discharged.

Edward Smith, in Custody of the Serjeant . . Arms, for a Breach of Privilege, committed upon Sir Thomas Miller Knight, was, according to Order, brought to the Bar: Where, upon his Knees, he received a Reprimand from Mr. Speaker.

Ordered, That the said Edward Smith be discharged out of Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, paying his Fees.

Registry of Deeds.

Mr. Clark, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill for registring Memorials of Deeds, Conveyances, and Wills: And the same was received, and read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Butler have Leave to go into the Country for a Fortnight, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Ordered, That Sir John Cotton have Leave to go into the Country for a Fortnight, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Dashwood have Leave to go into the Country for a Fortnight, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Free Proceedings in Parliament.

Ordered, That the Amendments, made by the Lords to the Bill touching free and impartial Proceedings in Parliament, be taken into Consideration upon Thursday Morning next, after Eleven a Clock.

Holborn, &c. Court of Conscience.

Colonel Perry, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill for erecting a Court of Conscience in Holborne and Finsbury Division in the County of Middlesex: And the same was received.

Supply.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of a Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for Maintenance of the Land-Forces.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had come to divers Resolutions; which they had directed him to report to the House, when the House would please to receive the same.

Ordered, That the said Report be made To-morrow Morning, at Ten a Clock.

Ways and Means.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee of the whole House, to whom it was referred to consider of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for the Maintenance of the Fleet, be made To-morrow Morning.

Ditto.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning at Eleven a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for Maintenance of the Fleet.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be adjourned.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
