Prayers.

FREDERICK Christiaen, Baron de Rede, Lord Agrim, Godart Adriaen Baron de Rede, Charles Baron de Goltsteyne, Arnold Joost Baron Van Keppell, and John James Ployard, took the Oaths, in order to their Naturalization.

Redes, &c. Nat.

A Bill to naturalize Frederick Christiaen, Baron de Rede, Lord Agrim, and Godart Adriaen Baron de Rede, Sons of the Earl of Athlone, and others, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Bridges, Mr. Blathwaite, Mr. Hammond, Sir Fra. Massam, Mr. Heveningham, Sir Tho. Skipwith, Sir Henry Colt, Sir Hen. Hobart, Sir Gerv. Elwes, Lord Spencer, Mr. Pocklington, Sir Wm. Coriton, Mr. Burdet, Sir John Bolles, Mr. Hunt, Sir Wm. Lowther, Mr. Manley, Sir Fra. Molyneux, Mr. Bertie, Mr. Methwyn, Mr. Phillipps, Sir Edw. Abney, Colonel Thompson, Sir Robert Owen, Sir Wm. Forester, Colonel Tipping, Mr. Mountague, Mr. Burrard, Mr. Hedger, Mr. Lambton: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Five a Clock, in the Speaker's Chambers.

Duty on Glass.

Ordered, That the Committee, to whom the Petitions of the Glass-makers are referred, have Power to send for Persons, Papers and Records.

Claims for Prizes.

A Petition of the Company of Seamen belonging to his Majesty's Ship the Centurion, Captain Price Commander, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That they had faithfully served his Majesty on board the said Ship for Three Years last; and took several Prizes in that time, to the Hazard of their Lives: That the Petitioners have made their Application to the Prize-Office, for the Share of those Prizes; but are put off with frivolous Pretences; to their great Discouragement: And praying the Relief of the House in the Premises, so as they may be paid their Prize-money.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to a Committee: And that they do examine the Matter thereof; and report the same, with their Opinion therein, to the House:

And it is referred to Sir Henry Hobart, Mr. Heveningham, Sir William Lowther, Sir John Kay, Mr. Pocklington, Mr. Manley, Mr. Moyle, Mr. Onslow, Mr. Daniel, Mr. Bertie, Sir Fra. Prisons and pretended privileged Places.

Ordered, That Mr. Praed, Mr. Hunt, Mr. Mountstevens, Mr. Pendarvis, Mr. Greenvill, Mr. Fleming, Sir Wm. Forester, Sir Rowland Gwynn, Mr. Burdet, Sir Hen. Colt, be added to the Committee, to whom it is referred to consider how the Abuses of Prisons, and other pretended privileged Places, may be regulated.

Aldborough Election.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, proceeded to hear the Merits of the Election for the Borough of Aldborough, in the County of York:

And the Counsel, and Witnesses, on both Sides, were called in; and heard.

And then withdrew.

Resolved, Nemine contradicente, That Henry Fairfax Esquire, having, contrary to the late Act of Parliament, expended Money, in order to his Election to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Aldborough, in the County of York, since the Vacancy thereof by the Death of Sir Michael Wentworth, is disabled and incapacitated, upon such Election, to serve as a Burgess for the said Borough.

Then the Question being put, That Arthur Kay Esquire is duly elected a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the said Borough of Aldborough;

Ordered, That no Motion be made for a Warrant for a new Writ, for electing of a Burgess for the said Borough of Aldborough, until after Twelve a Clock, in a full House.

Ways and Means.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee of the whole House, to whom it was referred to consider of Ways and Means for raising the Supply granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France, for the Service of the Year 1697, be made To-morrow Morning.

Supply; Deficiency of Coinage.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, after the said Report, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply to be granted to his Majesty, for making good the Deficiency in re-coining the hammered Money; and the Recompence to be given for bringing Plate into the Mints, to be coined.

Commissioners of Accounts.

Resolved, That this House will, upon this Day Sevennight, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for examining, taking, and stating, the publick Accounts of the Kingdom, to commence from the Expiration of the present Commission; and will then proceed to a new Election of Commissioners for the said Accounts.

Ordered, That all Committees be adjourned.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
