Prayers.

Encouraging Privateers.

THE House took into Consideration the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill for the better Encouragement of Privateers was committed:

And several of the Amendments, made by the said Committee to the Bill, were severally read a Second time; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

And a Debate arising upon an Amendment, Fo. 18. L. 7. * * * *;

Resolved, That the Debate be adjourned until Tomorrow Morning.

Members summoned.

Ordered, That the Serjeant do go into WestminsterHall, and Courts of Request, and summon the Members there to attend.

And he went accordingly;

And being returned;

Commissioners of Accounts.

The Members of the House, according to Order, put into Glasses their several Lists of Persons Names, to be Commissioners for taking and stating the publick Accounts:

And the Clerk and Clerk-Assistant went, one of each Side the House, with Glasses, to receive the said Lists.

Resolved, That a Committee be appointed, to withdraw into the Speaker's Chamber, to examine and peruse the Lists, given in by the Members of the House: And that they do report to this House, upon whom the Choice shall fall.

And it is referred to Lord Ranelagh, Mr. Papillion, Mr. Mountague, Mr. Gwyn, Sir John Lowther, Mr. Bromley.

And they withdrew into the Speaker's Chambers accordingly.

Supply Bill; Duties on Paper, &c.

Mr. Solicitor-General, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill for granting to their Majesties several Duties upon Parchment and Paper: And the same was received.

Commissioners of Accounts; Raising Militia.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for taking and stating the publick Accounts; and also of the Bill for raising the Militia of this Kingdom, for the Year 1694, altho' the Month's Pay, formerly advanced, be not repaid.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Boyle took the Chair of the said Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Boyle reported from the said Committee, That they had gone through both the said Bills, and made several Amendments to them: Which they had directed him to report, when the House would please to receive the same.

Ordered, That the Report of the Bill for taking and stating the publick Accounts be made To-morrow Morning.

Ordered, That the Report of the Bill for raising the Militia be made upon Friday Morning.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Robert Legard and Mr. Holford:

Mr. Speaker,

Supply Bill; Poll Tax.

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for raising Money by a Poll, payable quarterly, for One Year, for carrying on a vigorous War against France, without any Amendments.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Tonage Duties, &c. [Bank of England incorporated.]

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Bill for granting to their Majesties certain Duties upon Wines, and upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors; and of the Bill for granting to their Majesties several Duties upon the Tonage of Ships.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had gone through the Bills, and made several Amendments; which they had directed him to report, when the House would please to receive the same.

Ordered, That the said Report be made To-morrow Morning.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
