Ordered, That Mr. Ward have Leave to go into the Country, for Recovery of his Health.

Bankrupts Estates.

A Bill for the better Discovery of Bankrupts Estates, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed, upon the Debate of the House, to Mr. Christie, Sir Wm. Cooper, Sir Tho. Vernon, Mr. Norris, Mr. Blofield, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Colt, Mr. Foley, Sir Walter Yong, Mr. Parkhurst, Mr. Bowyer, Sir Hen. Ashurst, Mr. Harcourt, Sir Fra. Guibon, Lord Cornbury, Mr. Clark, Mr. Pendarvis, Mr. Lloyd, Sir Wm. Wogan, Mr. Lutterell, Sir Ra. Dutton, Sir Richard Hart, Mr. Bale, Sir Tho. Haslerigg, Mr. Lowther, Mr. Morris, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Pigot, Sir Fra. Supply Bill; issuing £.300,000 out of Tonage Duties.

A Bill for supplying the yearly Sum of Three hundred thousand Pounds, out of the Duties arising by an Act of this present Session of Parliament, intituled, An Act for granting to their Majesties a Subsidy of Tonage and Poundage, and other Sums of Money, payable upon Merchandizes exported and imported, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Resolved, That the said Bill be committed to the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for granting to his Majesty an Aid of Four Shillings in the Pound, for One Year, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour, is committed: And that the said Committee have Power, if they think fit, to add the same to the said Bill for granting to his Majesty an Aid of Four Shillings in the Pound, and to make both the said Bills one.

Duty on Lapis Caliminaris.

Ordered, That the Grand Committee of Trade do consider of the Duty upon Lapis Caliminaris; and report their Opinion therein to the House.

Ludgerfall Election.

A Petition of Thomas Neale the younger was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That at the Election of a Burgess to serve in this Parliament for the Borough of Ludgersall, in the County of Wilts, in the room of John Dean Esquire, the Petitioner was duly elected; but that Edward Earle, the younger, Bailiff of the said Borough, as he declared, Right or wrong that he would return John Webb Esquire, as he did: And praying to be heard herein.

Ordered, That the Examination and Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections: And that they do report the Matter, with their Opinion therein, to the House.

West-Thorock Inundation.

The House proceeded, according to the Order of the Day, to take into further Consideration the Report from the Committee, to whom the Petition of the Poor of Cobham College, and the Proprietors of Lands now under Water, in West-Thorock, in the County of Essex, was referred:

And the said Report was again read.

Resolved, That the said Report be re-committed to the same Committee: And that the Committee do summon before them, and hear, the Commissioners of Sewers, and the City of London, and Inhabitants of the County of Essex, and the said Proprietors; and report their Opinion thereupon to the House: And that they do meet upon Monday next, at Four a Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And that all the Members that serve for the County of Surry, and Borough of Southwark, be added to the said Committee.

Encouragement of Privateers.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Friday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for the better Encouragement of Privateers.

Free Proceedings in Parliament.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resumed the adjourned Debate upon the Amendment proposed to be made to the Bill touching free and impartial Proceedings in Parliament:

And the Question being put, That the Word "Heirs" do stand in the Bill;

So it passed in the Negative.

And some Amendments were made by the House to the Bill.
