ORDERED, That Mr. Mitton have Leave to go into the Country for Three Weeks, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Ordered, That Mr. Etterick have Leave to go into the Country for a Month, for Recovery of his Health, and upon extraordinary Occasions.

Ordered, That Mr. Chaplyn, being very ill, have Leave to go into the Country, for Recovery of his Health.

Ordered, That Mr. Serjeant Blinco have Leave to go into the Country for a Month, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Ordered, That no Motion for Leave for any Member to go out of Town be made before Twelve o'Clock.

Earl of Rochester's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the dividing and settling the Estate of the Coheirs of John late Earl of Rochester, deceased; and for discharging the Trusts thereupon; was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Lacon William Childe:

Fleetwood's Estate.

The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act for the ratifying and confirming a certain Indenture of Lease of Marton Meare, in the County of Lancaster, made by the Earl of Derby, and others, to Thomas Fleetwood Esquire: And Also,

Webb's Estate.

A Bill, intituled, An Act for Sale of Part of the Estate of Jonathan Webb Esquire, for Discharge of Debts and Incumbrances charged thereupon: And also,

Earl of Salisbury's Estate.

A Bill, intituled, An Act to enable the Guardians of James Earl of Salisbury to make Leases of Salisbury-House, and some other Hereditaments in the Strand, in the County of Middlesex, for Improvement thereof by Building:

To which the Lords desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Ways and Means.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom it was referred to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply, to be granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour, That they had proceeded upon the Charge of the Civil List from Michaelmas 1693, to Michaelmas 1694; the Consideration whereof was referred to them; and had come to several Resolutions thereupon; which they had directed him to report to the House; and which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were read; and are as follow; viz.

1. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge of the Cofferer's Office, for Ordinaries, and Extraordinaries, be a Sum not exceeding 90,000l. per Annum.

2. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge of the Treasurer of the Chamber's Office be a Sum not exceeding 30,000l. per Ann.

3. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge of the great Wardrobe be a Sum not exceeding 12,000l. per Annum.

4. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge of the Office of the Robes be a Sum not exceeding 4,000l. per Ann.

5. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the ordinary Charge of the Office of the Works be a Sum not exceeding 6,000l. per Annum.

6. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge of the Gardens be a Sum not exceeding 2,000l. per Ann.

7. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the ordinary Charge of the Office of the Stables, on settled Allowances, be a Sum not exceeding 8,376l. 7s. 6d. per Annum.

8. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the extraordinary Charge of the Office of the Stables, during the War, be a Sum not exceeding 10,000l. per Annum.

9. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge of Foreign Ministers, for Ordinaries and Extraordinaries, be a Sum not exceeding 30,676l. 7s. 7d. per Ann.

10. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge for Bounty-money be a Sum not exceeding 20,000l. per Annum.

11. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge to Persons on Fees and Salaries, payable at the Exchequer, over and above what . . . paid to the Officers of the Customs, Excise, Post-Office, &c. or by the Receivers thereof, be a Sum not exceeding 50,000l. per Annum.

12. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That all Pensions or Annuities, charged as Part of the Civil List, above the Sum of 200l. per Ann. except the Charity of 350l. 10s. per Ann. to Christ's Hospital, be suspended during the War.

13. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That all other Pensions and Annuities, payable out of any Branches of the Revenue, except as aforesaid, be suspended during the War.

14. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge to the Band of Pensioners be a Sum not exceeding 6,000l. per Ann.

15. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge to the Queen Dowager be a Sum not exceeding 12,000l. per Ann.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge to the Prince and Princess of Denmark be a Sum not exceeding 50,000l. per Ann.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge for secret Services be a Sum not exceeding 10,000l. per Ann.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge of the Privy Purse, during the War, be a Sum not exceeding 30,000l. per Ann.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge for Plate and Jewels be a Sum not exceeding 4,000l. per Ann.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge for Contingencies, Liberates for the Exchequer, Printers Bills, Messengers Bills of the Court and Receipt of the Exchequer, Incidents to Commissioners of Accounts, Law-Charges, Surplusages of Accounts, Rewards, for apprehending Highwaymen, Receivers Rewards, &c. be a Sum not exceeding 40,000l. per Ann.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Charge for the Payment of her late Majesty's Servants, and Debts, for the Year 1695, be a Sum not exceeding 50,000l.

The First Twelve of the said Resolutions, being severally read a Second time; were upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

The Thirteenth Resolution being read a Second time;

An Amendment was proposed to be made, by adding "and that no other Pension already granted or to be granted, shall be paid during the War:"

And the same was, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Resolved, That the House do agree with the Committee, in the said Resolution, so amended, That all other Pensions and Annuities payable out of any Branches of the Revenue, except as aforesaid, be suspended during the War: and that no other Pension already granted, or to be granted, shall be paid during the War.

The rest of the said Resolutions, being severally read a Second time, were, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Duties on Paper, &c.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee appointed to consider of the Act, made the last Session, for laying several Duties upon Vellum, Parchment, and Paper; and of the Doubts and Complaints relating thereunto; be made To-morrow Morning.

Compelling the production of Sir P. Pindar.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to compel Edward Williams Esquire to bring forth the Person of Sir Paul Pindar Baronet, is committed, be made upon Monday Morning next.

African Company.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the Report from the Committee, to whom the Petition of the Royal African Company of England was referred, be further adjourned until Tuesday Morning next.

Ways and Means.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour.

Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had made a further Progress in the Matter to them referred; and had directed him to move, That they may have Leave to sit again.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees, except such as are by Adjournment to sit To-morrow Morning, be adjourned.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
