Prayers.

Yorkshire Toll of Cattle.

ORDERED, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for the discharging the Payment of Toll of Cattle, passing over Boroughbridge, and other Places, upon the high Road in Yorkshire.

Members Protections.

Ordered, That all Protections, and written Certificates of the Members of this House, be declared void in Law, and be forthwith withdrawn and called in; and that none be granted for the future; and that, if any shall be granted by any Member, such Member shall be liable to the Censure of this House: And that the Privilege of Members, for their Menial Servants, be observed according to Law; and that, if any Menial Servant shall be arrested and detained, contrary to Privilege, he shall, upon Complain thereof made unto the Speaker, be discharged by Order from him.

Ordered, That this be declared to be the standing Order of this House.

Ordered, That this Order be published, by setting up the same in the Lobby at the House-Door, at Westminsterhall Gate, at the several Courts in Westminster-hall, and at the Inns of Courts, and Inns of Chancery, and at the Royal Exchange; and that the Knights of the Shires do send Copies thereof to the Sheriffs of their respective Counties, and the Burgesses to their several Boroughs.

Apprehending Highwaymen.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for the encouraging the apprehending of Highwaymen, and making Hues and Cries more effectual: And that Mr. Richard How, Mr. Christy, Sir Jos. Tredenham, Mr. Brewer, do prepare and bring in the same.

Money given for Naval Services.

Mr. Foley, from the Commissioners for taking the publick Accompts, acquainted the House, That in their State of the Money given for the Maintenance of the Fleet, delivered to this House, their Clerk had made some Mistakes, which they had now rectified: And he delivered the same in at the Table: Where the same was read.

Ordered, That the Lords of the Treasury have a Copy of the said State.

Orders to Admirals.

Ordered, That the Admirals, that commanded the Fleet the last Summer, do attend this House upon Monday Morning next, and bring with them Copies of all Orders, which they received for the Management of the Fleet the last Summer.

Frequent Parliaments.

A Bill for more frequent Elections of Parliament was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Wednesday Morning next, at Ten a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.

Supply Bill; importing Brandy, &c.

Ordered, That it be an Instruction to the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for repealing a Clause, in the Act made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign for prohibiting all Trade and Commerce with France, which prohibits the Importation of Brandy, Aqua-Vitæ, and other Spirits, is committed, that they consider the lessening the Duty upon Brandy.

Navy Estimate, &c.

The Lord Falkland presented to the House an Estimate of the Charge of the Navy for the Year One thousand Six hundred Ninety-four; and also

A List of the Ships intended for the Chanel, and for the Service of the Miditerranean, and the West-Indies:

Which were read; and are as followeth; viz.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Estimate and List be referred to the Committee of the whole House, to whom it is referred to consider of the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for the Maintenance of the Fleet for the Year 1694.

Supply.

Then the House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for the Maintenance of the Fleet for the Year 1694.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had come to a Resolution: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was read; and is as followeth; viz.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Sum of Four hundred thousand Pounds be granted to their Majesties, towards a Supply for Maintenance of the Fleet for the Year 1694.

The said Resolution being read a Second time,

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee in the said Resolution, That the Sum of Four hundred thousand Pounds be granted to their Majesties, towards a Supply for Maintenance of the Fleet for the Year 1694.

Resolved, That whoever shall lend any Sum of Money, not exceeding the Sum of Four hundred thousand Pounds, upon the Credit of the Exchequer in general, towards the Maintenance of the Fleet for the Year 1694, this House will take care to see them repaid, with Interest after the Rate of 7l. per Cent. per Annum, out of the next Aids to be granted to their Majesties for the Fleet, next after Satisfaction of such Monies as have been borrowed by virtue of any Clause of Credit, in an Act of this present Parliament, intituled, An Act for granting to their Majesties certain Rates and Duties of Excise upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, for securing certain Recompences and Advantages, in the said Act mentioned, to such Persons as shall voluntarily advance the Sum of Ten hundred thousand Pounds, towards carrying on the War against France; and in another Act of this present Parliament, intituled, An Act upon Review of the Quarterly Poll, granted to their Majesties in the last Session of this present Parliament.

Resolved, That this Manner of Proceeding shall not be drawn into Precedent hereafter.

Then Sir Thomas Littleton acquainted the House, That he was directed by the said Committee to move the House, That they might have Leave to sit again.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Thursday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for the Maintenance of the Fleet for the Service of the Year 1694.

Money raised on Million Bill, &c.

Ordered, That the Lords of the Treasury do lay before this House, what Money had been raised upon the Million Bill, and upon the Bill for Review of the Quarterly Poll, and how much they are deficient.

Secret Service.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for taking the public Accounts do lay before this House, on Monday Morning next, an Account of what Monies have been issued and paid for secret Service, and to Members of Parliament.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Nine a Clock.
