THE House took into Consideration the Amendments, made by the Lords, to the Bill, intituled, An Act to naturalize John de Philipeneau de Montargier, and others:

And the same, being read, are as follow; viz.

The said Amendments, being severally read a Second time, were, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That Sir Theophilus Oglethorpe do carry the Bill to the Lords, and acquaint them, That this House hath agreed to the same Amendments.

Farrington Roads.

A Bill for the Repair of the Highways from the Stream in Farrington Port to St. John's Bridge, in the Parish of Burscott, in the County of Berks, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Conway's Estate.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to enable Popham Conway Esquire, and his Brother, to make Leases of their Estates: And that Mr. Sloan do prepare, and bring in, the Bill.

Grant of Needwood.

Ordered, That Mr. Wilkins, Mr. Bernardiston, Sir Jacob Astly, Mr. Byerly, Mr. Onslow, Sir Wm. Ashurst, Mr. Ashurst, Mr. Proby, Sir Wm. St. Quintin, Sir John Manwareing, Colonel Kirkby, Mr. Parkhurst, Mr. Mason, Sir Fran. Blaake, Mr. Blaake, Mr. Verney, Mr. Brotherton, Sir Theoph. Oglethorpe, Mr. Blofeild, Mr. Newport, Sir Wm. Ellis, Mr. Leigh, Sir Robert Cotton, Sir Hen. Bone-lace-makers.

Ordered, That Sir H. Seymor, Mr. Bridges, Mr. Cowper, Mr. Champion, Sir Jos. Tredenham, Mr. Duncomb, Lord Cavendish, Sir Justin. Isham, Mr. Yates, Mr. Hammond; and all for Bucks, Bedford, Northampton; be added to the Committee, to whom the Petition of John Hootton, and others, Bone-lace-makers, was referred.

Army Arrears.

A Petition of Daniel Renvoy and Paul Bonford, and the several Troopers in Colonel Bomecourt's Regiment of Horse, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That, having applied themselves to Mr. Underesh, the Dutch Paymaster, for Money due to them for their Service in the late War, he refuseth to pay or account with them: And praying, That he may be forced to account with them.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee, to whom the Petition of the Soldiers of Colonel Coote's Regiment is referred: And that they do examine the Matter thereof; and report the same, with their Opinion therein, to the House.

Hough's Estate.

A Bill for the Sale of the Estate of Zenobia Hough, for the Payment of the Debts of her Husband, and other Uses, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill committed to Mr. Brotherton, Sir Thomas Travell, Mr. Offley, Sir H. Pickering, Mr. Walpole, Mr. Sloan, Lord Cornbury, Sir Jacob Ashly, Mr. Yates, Mr. Vernon, Mr. Vincent, Mr. Clayton, Mr. England, Sir Richard Farrington, Sir Wm. Coriton, Mr. Campion, Mr. Crane, Mr. Price, Mr. Scobell, Sir Steph. Lennard, Mr. Hoar, Mr. Howard, Sir Wm. Cooke, Mr. Gorge, Sir Jacob Banks, Mr. Fortescue, Mr. Bridges, Mr. Blofeild, Sir Richard Cocks, Mr. Freke, Mr. Ash, Mr. Smith, Mr. Hammond, Sir Henry Gough; and all that serve for the Counties of York and Lancaster: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Five a Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Transport Debt.

A Petition of divers Merchants, and Masters of Ships, belonging to the Town and County of Pool, in behalf of themselves, and others, concerned in the Transport-Debt, Anno Dom. 1693, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That there are considerable Sums of Money due to the Petitioners, for the Hire of their Ships taken into his Majesty's Service by the Commissioners for Transportation in the Year aforesaid: And praying a speedy Payment may be made of the said Debt.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee of the whole House, who are to consider further of the Supply, to be granted to his Majesty.

Imprisonment of Counter, &c.

A Petition of John Bernardy, John Counter, Robert Cassils, James Chambers, and Robert Meldrum, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That they, having been confined above Three Years in Prison, upon an Accusation of an hellish Conspiracy to assassinate his Majesty, are reduced to a miserable Condition: That, understanding Leave is given to bring in a Bill for continuing them in Prison, pray the same may be for their Banishment.

Resolved, That the said Petition be rejected.

Ditto.

A Petition of Robert Blackburne was offered also, relating to the said Bill:

And the Question being put, That the Petition be received;

It passed in the Negative.

Duties on Glass.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Petitions relating to the Duties upon Glasswares were referred, be made To-morrow Morning.

Westminster Corn Market.

Then the House being informed, That the Counsel on both Sides attended to be heard, in relation to the Bill for a Corn-market at Westminster;

They were called in:

And the Bill was read the Third time.

And the Counsel against and for the Bill were heard; and several Witnesses examined on both Sides.

And then they withdrew.

Then Mr. Speaker opened the Bill.

An ingrossed Clause was offered, as a Rider to the Bill, That nothing therein shall extend to prejudice the Right or Privilege belonging to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster:

The same was twice read; and amended by the House:

And then the same was read the Third time; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House to be made Part of the Bill.

Then the Question being put, That the Bill do pass;

Byde's Estate.

The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act to enable Thomas Byde Esquire, an Infant, with the Consent of his Guardians, and next Relations, to make a Contract for the buying in his Mother's Jointure; and to sell a small Estate in Great Anwell, in the County of Hertford; and likewise for the securing and raising a Portion for Barbara Byde, Sister of the said Thomas Byde; and for other Purposes in the Act mentioned: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House, Also,

Seliard's Estate.

The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act for vesting certain Lands of Sir Thomas Seliard Baronet, in the County of Kent, in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of his Sisters Portions, charged therewith: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House. Also,

Ship Charles.

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for the Ship Charles Fly-boat, of Exeter, to trade as a free Ship, without any Amendments. Also,

Browne's Nat.

The Lords have agreed to the Amendments, made by this House, to the Bill, intituled, An Act to naturalize Captain Thomas Browne, and others.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Making Militia more useful.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Wednesday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill to make the Militia of this Kingdom more useful.

Regulating Elections.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Friday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for Qualifying of Members to sit in Parliament; and further regulating Elections.

Duties on Salt.

Ordered, That the Bill for the better ascertaining and collecting the Duties on Salt; and preventing the ill Practices used to defraud the King of the said Duties; be read To-morrow Morning.

Suppressing Lotteries.

Ordered, That the Bill to suppress the Royal Oak Lottery, and all other Lotteries, be read To-morrow Morning.

Imprisonment of Counter, &c.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for continuing the Imprisonment of * Counter, and others, for the late horrid Conspiracy to assassinate the Person of his Sacred Majesty.

Persons to attend.

Ordered, That Langford, Bower, Hammond, and Pearse, who were ordered to attend this House this Day, do again attend To-morrow Morning.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be adjourned.
