Die Lunæ, Octobris 7, 1644.

PRAYERS.

Payment for Horses.

RESOLVED, &c. That the One hundred and Thirty Pounds appointed to be paid for the Twenty Horse and Mares, with their Furniture, taken up for the Service of the State, at Milford Haven, by Order of the Council of War aboard the Ship Lyon, out of the Ship the Spye, set forth as a Man of War (by whom the said Horse were taken as Prize), going from Youghall to Bristol, be paid out of the Credit of the Excise, after former Assignments now made be satisfied.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Totnam Highcross Vicarage.

Ordered, That Mr. Strode do bring in an Ordinance for Addition of an Hundred Pounds per Annum for the better Support of Mr. Jasper Hicks in the Vicarage of Totnam Highcross, out of the impropriated Parsonage, and out of the Revenues of the Dean, Dean and Chapter, of Paule's.

Fen Drayton Vicarage.

Ordered, That Mr. Recorder do bring in an Ordinance for Addition of Means to the Vicar of Fen Drayton out of the impropriated Parsonage.

Poor Vicarages.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for plundered Ministers, to consider how the poor Vicarages and Cures of the Kingdom may be raised to a competent Maintenance out of the Revenues of Deans, Deans and Chapters, and of impropriate Parsonages; and to report their Opinions to the House.

Propositions for Peace.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edw. Leech and Doctor Aylett;

The Lords have commanded us to put you in mind of the Propositions for a safe and well-grounded Peace; and desire that you will give them a speedy Dispatch.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message: And do return this Answer; That they have the Propositions under present Consideration.

City Brigade.

Upon Report from the Committee of both Kingdoms, this Day made by Mr. Solicitor, That the Officers of the City Brigade now to advance, do desire, that Serjeant Major General Skippon may command their Brigade in Chief;

It is Resolved, &c. That it is inconvenient that Serjeant Major General Skippon should command the City Brigade in Chief, as Matters now stand.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of both Kingdoms, to acquaint the Committee of the Militia with this Vote.

Money for Army Service.

Ordered, That the Commissioners of Excise do forthwith advance Five hundred Pounds, upon Account, to the Waggon Master General, for the convoying of the Train of Artillery, and other Necessaries, to my Lord General's Army: And that the said Five hundred Pounds be deducted out of the next Month's Pay to my Lord General's Army.

Business deferred.

Ordered, That the Business concerning Northamptonshire, Rutlandshire, and the Isle of Jersey, be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning, the first Business.
