Message to Lords.
Sir Tho. Barrington went up to the Lords, to desire them to sit awhile; and to put them in mind of the Ordinance for Newcastle: And likewise carried up the Ordinance for the raising of Thirteen thousand Five hundred Pounds, in the County of Essex, for the raising, arming, and paying of a Thousand Dragoons, and Five hundred Horse.
Sir Tho. Barrington brings Answer, that the Lords do agree to the Ordinance for Essex; and will hasten the Ordinance for Newcastle: And, as for sitting awhile, in regard the Day is so far spent, they will meet again on Monday, by Nine Clock.
Prisoners of War.
An Ordinance for preventing the Mischiefs that may happen to the Safety of the Cities of London, Westminster, Suburbs, and Borough of Southwarke, and the Lines of Communication, by discovering such as . . . not true to it, by tendring an Oath unto them; was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords, for their Concurrence.
Leave to go to Scotland.
Tumults by Women.
Ordered, That this Information given by Mr. Jordan, concerning the late Tumults by Women; and concerning the Information given of a great Lord that gave out some Words touching the said Business; be referred to the Committee for Examinations.
Proceedings against Francis.
Escape of Prisoners.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for Prisoners, to examine what Prisoners have escaped; and what is the Condition of those Prisoners that have escaped; and by whose Fault and Neglect; and to report the whole State of the Business, and Matter of Fact.
Powder for Southampton.
Ordered, That the Town of Southampton shall have Forty Barrels of the Powder (for the Use of that Town) as was designed, and is shipped for the Isle of Wight: And that the Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom be very careful to take Order to repay the said Forty Barrels of Powder, to be employed for the Use of the Isle of Wight, as was formerly ordered.
Leave to visit a Prisoner.
Ordered, That the Charge and Custody of the Prison of the Gatehouse be, for the present, committed to Mr. Aquila Weekes, until further Order: And he is hereby authorized and required to take special Care of the Prisoners, as he will be answerable for them.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Lord Mayor, and Committee of the Militia, to take care and provide for the Security of the Prisoners in the Lord Peter's House; and to place a sufficient faithful Man in that House, to have the Care of the Prisoners there.

Money for Army.
Ordered, That it be recommended unto my Lord General, in an especial manner, that the common Soldiers of his Army may be considered, in the Distribution of the Monies that are now to come to the Army; by a Letter from Mr. Speaker.
