PRAYERS.

Nottingham Town.

THE Draught of a Letter to be sent to my Lord General, to recommend unto his Excellency the Care of the Town of Nottingham, in respect of the Importance of that Place, was this Day read; and re-committed.

Oxford Terms.

Ordered, That the humble Petition of Rich. Whitaker Stationer, this day presented to the House, be referred to the Consideration of the Committee for Examinations: And that all Petitions of the like Nature, concerning such as shall offend against the Ordinance of Lords and Commons, prohibiting the keeping Terms at Oxon, be referred likewise to the Consideration of this Committee; for the Relief of such as otherwise might receive Prejudice by any Decree, Order, &c. made there.

Messages to Lords.

Mr. Nicoll carried up to the Lords the Ordinance concerning the County of Devon; the Order concerning additional Committees for Suffolk; the Order concerning the publick Faith to be given to the Mayor of Evesham, for a Thousand Pounds lent to the Lord Brooke, for the publick Service; the Order concerning the Rents of Houses; the Order for Payment of Monies to Captain Bartlett, employed in the Service of Ireland; the Sequestrations of Looze in Kent, Lamborne in Essex, Stamford Rivers in Essex, Pedmarsh in Essex, Southweld in Essex, St. Thomas Apostle's.

Sir Gilbert Gerard is appointed to go to the Lords, to desire them to pass the Ordinance for assessing of such as have not contributed at all, or not proportionable to their Estates. He likewise carried up an Ordinance concerning Hantshire and the Isle of Wight.

Articles against Vines, &c.

Ordered, That a Copy of the Articles exhibited by Mr. George Cleeve Gentleman, against Rich. Vines, and Edw. Godfrey, Gentlemen, shall, under the Hand of the Clerk of this House, be sent unto Jo. Wenthorp Esquire, Captain Edw. Gibbins, Hen. Bode, Tho. Moreton, and Arth. Mackworth, Gentlemen; and that they, or any Two of them, shall call before them the said Vines and Godfrey; and shall take their Answers thereunto; together with the Examinations of such Witnesses, as shall be produced before them, for Proof of those Articles; and thereof shall make Certificate, in Writing, unto this House; that such further Proceedings may be thereupon had, as shall be meet.

Dorsett Forces.

An Ordinance for raising of Forces in the County of Dorsett, to be under the Command of Sir Walth. Erle, was this Day read; and recommitted unto the Gentlemen of Dorsettshire; with the Addition of Mr. Hodges.

Answer from Lords.

Sir Gilb. Gerard brings Answer, that as to the Messages carried up by him, the Lords will take them into speedy Consideration; and send Answers by Messengers of their own.

The Covenant.

Ordered, That the Committee formerly appointed for the Covenant do presently meet upon that Business, in the Place formerly appointed; and bring it in on Monday Morning.

State of the Treaty.

Ordered, That the Committee for preparing the State of the Treaty do meet this Afternoon, in the Place formerly appointed; and bring in that State To-morrow Morning.

Person to attend.

Ordered, That Sir Tho. Soame be summoned to attend this House To-morrow Morning.

Maidston Curacy.

An Ordinance for sequestring the Rents and Profits of the Cure and Stipendary Church, of Maidston, in the County of Kent, whereof, Mr. Rob. Barrell is Curate, into the Hands of certain Sequestrators, named in the said Ordinance, to the Use and Benefit of Samuel Smyth, Master of Arts, a godly, learned, and orthodox Divine; who is thereby appointed and required to preach every Lord's Day, and to officiate as Curate, and to take care for the Discharge of the Cure of the said Place, in all the Duties thereof, until further Order shall be taken by both Houses of Parliament; was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Earl of Newcastle's, &c. Impeachment.

Ordered, That Serjeant Wilde do To-morrow, bring in the Impeachments of the Earl of Newcastle, and Sir Hugh Cholmeley.

Warrant to Wilane.

Ordered, That Mr. Leonard Wilane of Danes-hall in the County of Essex, shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant for himself, his Wife, Children, and Two or Three Servants, to go into France.

Members not contributed.

Ordered, That, To-morrow Morning, Mr. Trenchard do bring in the Names of such Members, as have not contributed.

Superstitious Monuments.

Ordered, That the Committee for demolishing superstitious Monuments shall have power to demolish such as they shall find in any publick or open Place, in or about the Cities of London and Westminster, as well as such as they shall find in or about any Church or Chapel.

Punishing Soldiers.

An Ordinance for enabling the City Captains to force their common Soldiers to do and perform their Duties, by laying Mulcts upon, and imprisoning of them, was this Day read; and, by Vote, upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.
