ORDERED, That Mr. Ashhurst and Mr. Gourdon do, from this House, give Thanks to Mr. Calamyn, Mr. Vynes, and Mr. Obadiah Sedgwick, for the great Pains they took in the Sermons they preached this Day, at the Intreaty of this House, at St. Margarett's, Westminster; it being a Day especially set apart for a publick Humiliation; and to desire them to print their Sermons: And they are to have the like Privilege in printing of them, as others in the like kind usually have had.
Military Affairs.
Sir Gilbert Gerard presents a Letter, dated at Basing, 21 Octobris, from the Lord Warriston and Mr. Crew, of the Joining of our Forces, and chusing a Place for a Battle.
Ordered, That an Ordinance be brought in To-morrow, for the Payment of Two thousand Pounds to Sir Gilbert Gerard, out of the next Monies that shall be paid to my Lord General out of the Excise, to be disbursed by Commissary Bond for Victuals and Provisions for the Army.
A Letter was presented to the House by Sir Henry Vane junior, to be sent to the several Counties, to have their Forces in Readiness: Which was read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; and sent to the Lords immediately for their Concurrence.
