PRAYERS.
Arrears of Assessments.
THE Draught of a Letter to be sent from both Houses to the several Counties, to quicken them in the bringing in the Arrears of the Two Months Assessments; and the Arrears, uncollected, of the Bill of Four hundred thousand Pounds; was this Day read; and upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence, by Mr. Strode.
Church Government.
The humble Petition of Thomas Goodwyn, Philip Nye, and others, was this Day read:
The Question was propounded, viz. That the Opinion of any Persons, Members of the Assembly, dissenting from the Propositions concerning Church Government, presented to this House by the Assembly on Friday last, together with their Reasons, be presented, in Writing, to the Assembly, by Thursday next at farthest; and by the Assembly to this House, with all convenient Speed.
And then the Question being put, Whether this Question should be now put;
It was resolved Affirmatively.
And then the Question being put;
It was Resolved, upon the Question, That the Opinion of any Persons, Members of the Assembly, dissenting from the Propositions concerning Church Government, presented to this House by the Assembly on Friday last, together with their Reasons, be presented, in Writing, to the Assembly, by Thursday next at farthest; and by the Assembly to this House, with all convenient Speed.
Mr. Rous, Mr. Sallwey, are appointed to acquaint the Assembly with this Order.
Ordered, That the Assembly send to the House, what those Officers are that are intended in the Second Proposition of their Advice, presented to the House on Friday last.
Ordered, That on Friday next, presently upon sitting the House, the House be resolved into a Committee, to take into Consideration the Advice presented from the Divines, concerning Church Government: And that Mr. Speaker put the House in mind hereof.
Antinomians, &c.
Ordered, That the Rules brought in from the Committee of plundered Ministers, for preventing the Inconveniences that may follow upon the divulging of Antinomianism and Anabaptism, &c. shall be taken into Consideration on Friday next by the House: And that Mr. Speaker put the House in mind thereof.
