ORdered, That Mr. Poole do, from this House, give Thanks to Mr. Cawdry, for the great Pains he took in the Sermon he preached this Day, at the Intreaty of this House, at St. Margaret's, Westminster, it being the Day of Publick Humiliation; and to desire him to print his Sermon: And he is to have the like Privilege in Printing of it, as others in the like kind usually have had.
Ordered, That Mr. Blakiston do, from this House, give Thanks to Mr. Buroughes, for the great Pains he took in the Sermon he preached this Day, at the Intreaty of this House, at St. Margaret's, Westminster, it being the Day of Publick Humiliation; and to desire him to print his Sermon: And he is to have the like Privilege in Printing of it, as others in the like kind usually have had.
Ordered, That Sir Anthony Irby do, from this House, desire Mr. Palmer to preach before the Commons, at St. Margaret's, Westminster, the next Fast-Day.
Ordered, That Mr. Salwey do, from this House, desire Mr. Simmons to preach before the Commons, at St. Margaret's, Westminster, the next Fast-Day.
Ordered, That Mr. Recorder, Sir Robert Pye, Mr. Bell, Sir Wm. Ashton, Mr. Fawconbridge, Mr. Swetnam, Mr. Manley, and Mr. Edwards, Justices of the Peace within the City of Westminster, and Liberties thereof, do take care, that the Statutes and Ordinances for Observation of the Lord's Day be put in due Execution; and that the Fast-Days be more duly observed; and that nothing be permitted to be publickly sold on those Days.
Ordered, That such Members of this House as, according to former Order, have been summoned, or have had Notice, to attend the House, to take the Covenant, and have not yet attended, and taken the same, be admonished for their Neglect therein To-morrow Morning.
Sir Francis Pyle, Mr. Charles Fleetwood, Mr. John Dormer, Colonel Edw. Massey, Mr. Thomas Mackworth, Sir Nicolas Marten, Mr. Thomas Moore, this Day took the National League and Covenant.
Ordered, That Mr. Alderman Atkins do carry to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Orders for a Day of Thanksgiving: And that he do acquaint the Lord Mayor of London with the Order for the Day of Thanksgiving in and about the City, and Parts adjacent.
