Prayers.

Arbitrary Power.

ACCORDING to former Order the Committee of the whole House sat, to take into Consideration the taking away the Exercise of all arbitrary Power, and preventing the Exercise thereof for the future.

Mr. Ashurst in the Chair.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Governor of Newcastle, &c.

The Question being put, Whether the Debate concerning the Approving of Major General Skippon to be Governor of Newcastle, Gateside, and Tinmouth Castle, until both Houses shall take further Order, shall be adjourned till To-morrow Morning;

The Question passed with the Negative.

The Question being propounded, Whether this House would approve of Major General Skippon to be Governor of Newcastle, Gateside, and Tinmouth, until both Houses take further Order;

The Question was put, Whether this Question should be now put: And

It passed with the Affirmative.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth approve of Major General Skippon to be Governor of Newcastle, Gateside, and Tinmouth Castle, until both Houses take further Order.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired to do the like.

Hunt's Sequestration.

Resolved, &c. That the humble Petition of Mr. Robert Hunt, now offered, shall be now read.

And the Petition was accordingly read.

And the Question being propounded, Whether the Petitioner, Mr. Robert Hunt, shall be freed from Sequestration;

The Question was put, Whether this Question shall be now put: And

It passed with the Affirmative.

Resolved, &c. That the Petitioner, Mr. Robert Hunt, be freed from Sequestration.
