ORDERED, That Mr. Marshall, Mr. Whittacre, and Mr. Strong, shall have the Thanks of this House returned unto them, for the great and pious Pains they this Day took, at the Desire of this House, in Praying and Preaching before them: And the Gentlemen that were formerly appointed to desire them to preach, are ordered to return them the Thanks of this House.
League and Covenant.
Charles Lord Car, Mr. Francis Pierrepoint, Mr. Robert Harley, Mr. Wm. Say, Mr. Christofer Martyn, Mr. Wm. Priestly, Mr. John Arundell, Sir Philip Percivall, Sir John Maynard, Mr. Thomas Lister, Mr. Lionell Copley, Mr. John Elford, Mr. Lodowick Lewes, and Mr. Edmund Wylde, this Day took the National League and Covenant.
Ordered, That those Members of this House that have not taken the Covenant, be hereby required and injoined peremptorily to take the Covenant on the next Day of publick Humiliation: And that the Order that was made, concerning those that should not take it this Day, may be continued in Force and Power, in relation to those that shall not take it the next Fast Day: And that the Serjeant do in like manner give notice unto them of this Order.
Ordered, That Mr. Cawdrey be excused from Preaching before the Commons the next Fast Day.
Ordered, That Mr. Nathaniell Ward be desired to preach before this House the next Day of publick Humiliation, at Margarett's Church, Westminster: And that Mr. Bois do give him notice of this Order and Desire.
