Lay-Preachers.

ACCORDING to former Order, the Grand Committee of the whole House sat, to take into Consideration the Ordinance sent from the Lords, concerning the inhibiting all Persons, not ordained, to preach.

Earl of Peter borough's Arrears.

Whereas, by a former Order of 18 Septembris 1646, it is ordered, That the Arrears due unto the late Earl of Peterborough, for his Entertainment in the Parliament's Service, should be paid and satisfied out of the concealed Estates of Delinquents, to be discovered by the Countess Dowager of Peterborough; and it is not by the said Order declared, To whom the said Arrears, arising from Delinquents concealed Estates, so discovered as aforesaid, should be paid: It is this Day Declared and Ordered, That the Proceed of such Discovery, and all Monies to be raised thereby, be by the Committee of Lords and Commons, to whom the said Business was by former Order referred, so much of it given and paid unto the said Countess of Peterborough, as will be found in Arrear of the Entertainment of the said Earl her Husband, deceased; and the Residue, or Overplus, to the Uses expressed in the said former Order.

Scotch Affairs.

Ordered, That, on Monday next, the Paper from the Commissioners of the Church of Scotland, in the Hands of Mr. Tate, be reported.

Goldsmiths Hall Committee.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to consider of the Ordinance sent from the Lords concerning the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall, do meet this Afternoon; and so de die in diem, until that Business be reported.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Richard Darley, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country.

Oxford Articles.

Ordered, That, on Monday next Mr. Knightley do make Report from the Committee, concerning the Articles of Oxon.

Excise.

An Ordinance for allowing to the Commissioners and Sub-Commissioners of Excise, upon their Account, the Sum of Five thousand Six hundred and One Pounds Seventeen Shillings and Nine-pence, collected on the Excise in the County of Dorsett, and taken up by the Governors of the Garisons of Poole, Weymouth, Wareham, and Lyme; and requiring the Comptroller and Auditors of the Excise to allow the same, upon Account, accordingly; was this Day read; and, upon the Question passed; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Privilege.

Ordered, That the Business concerning Doctor Levett having Privilege to be free from Arrests, eundo, morando, et redeundo, to, with, and from the Committee, in Prosecution of the Cause depending betwixt him and Mr. Nevile; and likewise the Petition presented to the House from Mr. George Reeve; be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning.

Proceedings on Col. King.

A Vote from the Committee of the Army to whom the Business concerning Colonel King was referred, informing, That he had neglected to attend the said Committee; and likewise a Letter from divers of the Committee, from Lincoln; was this Day read.

The Question was propounded, Whether Colonel Edward King shall be forthwith sent for, in safe Custody.

And the Question being put, Whether this Question shall be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And accordingly the Question being put, Whether Colonel Edward King shall be forthwith sent for, in safe Custody;

The House was divided.

Transporting Horses.

Ordered, That Monsieur Bellievre, Extraordinary Ambassador from the French King, shall have a Warrant, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, to transport Five Horses and a Mare from hence into France, being the same which he brought hither.
