Prayers.
Representation and Elections.
THE House, according to former Order, was resolved into a Grand Committee, upon the Heads of a Bill for an equal Representative, and regulating their Elections.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Say took the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Say reports from the Grand Committee, That the said Committee have adjourned till This-day-sevennight; and desire the Leave of the House to sit then.
Resolved, That the Door be shut till Twelve of the Clock: And that none depart, without Leave of the House, till that time.
The Question being propounded, That the House be resolved into a Grand Committee, This-day-sevennight, upon the Heads of the said Bill for an equal Representative, and regulating their Elections;
It passed with the Negative.
Resolved, That the House be resolved into a Grand Committee on This-day-fortnight, upon the Heads of the said Bill.
Excise.
The House resumed the Debate upon the Amendments to the Bill for the Excise.
Ordered, That Mr. Love have Leave to go out of the House.
Ordered, That Colonel Sidney have Leave to go out of the House.
Resolved, That the Time for this Act to begin be from the Twenty-ninth Day of September 1650.
Resolved, That the Quorum be any Three of the Commissioners.
Ordered, That Mr. Strickland be added to the Committee of the Navy, and to the Committee for the Excise.
Ordered, That the whole Bill be committed to the Committees of Excise and the Navy; who are to be joined, as to this Business: And that Colonel Thompson do take care of it: And that it be brought in again To-morrow Morning.
Resolved, That the Excise do continue for One whole Year; viz. from the Twenty-ninth Day of September 1650, to the Twenty-ninth Day of September 1651: And that an Act be brought in to that Purpose: And that Colonel Thompson do bring in an Act accordingly.
Ordered, That Mr. Pyne have Leave to go out of the House.

Mr. Say reports Amendments to the Bill for the Sale of the Manors, Lands, and Tenements of Francis Lord Deincourt: Which were this Day read the First time.
