Sheriffs.

RESOLVED, by the Parliament, That Charles Edmonds Esquire be, and is nominated and approved of to be, Sheriff of the County of Northampton for the Year ensuing: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue forth a Commission to him, under the Great Seal, to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Resolved, That William Noell, of Kirkbey, Esquire, be, and is nominated and approved of to be, Sheriff of the County of Leicester for the Year ensuing: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him, under the Great Seal, to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Assessments.

Colonel Downes reports from the Committee of the Army, Amendments to the Bill for the Assessments of One hundred and Twenty thousand Pounds per mensem: Which were twice read.

Resolved, That the Commissioners for Yorkshire be for the whole County, without Distinction of Ridings.

Resolved, That Barrington Bourchier Esquire be a Commissioner, in this Bill, for the County of York.

The Question being propounded, To agree to the Clause in this Bill touching the Hospitals;

The House was divided.

The Question being put, To agree to the Amendments, that the Word "Chases" be left out of the Bill;

Briscoe Esquire be, and is nominated and approved of to be, Sheriff of the County of Cumberland for the Year ensuing: And that the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal of England do issue forth a Commission to him, under the Great Seal, to be Sheriff of the said County accordingly.

Resolved, That Robert Milford, of Mitford, Esquire, be, and is nominated and approved of to be, Sheriff of the County of Northumberland: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him, under the Great Seal, to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Resolved, That Clement Fulthorpe senior, Esquire, be, and is nominated and approved of to be, Sheriff for the County of Duresme for the Year ensuing: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him, under the Great Seal, to be Sheriff of the said County accordingly.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for regulating the Proceedings in the Laws, to consider how the Burthens of Sheriffs may be eased: And that they report their Opinions therein, to the House, To-morrowsevennight.

Resolved, That Henry Wrigley Esquire be, and is nominated and approved of to be, Sheriff for the County of Lancaster for the Year ensuing: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him, under the Great Seal, to be Sheriff of the said County, accordingly.

Navy Contract.

Colonel Thompson reports from the Committee of the Navy, touching the Contract made for Provisions for the Navy.

Ordered, That the Debate upon the said Report be adjourned until To-morrow Morning, the first Business.
