Prayers.

Excise.

THE House resumed the Debate upon the Amendments to the Bill touching the Excise.

An Information from the Commissioners, for the Excise, was this Day read.

The Amendments, being severally put to the Question, were assented unto.

And the Bill, upon the last Clause, touching re-imbursing the present Commissioners, was, upon the Question, re-committed to the same Committee: With Power to them to send for the present Commissioners, and the Persons nominated to be Commissioners, and such other Persons as they shall think fit; and consider how the First Ten thousand Pounds may be satisfied, and the whole State of the Business touching the last Ten Thousand Pounds; and report it to the House.

Delinquents Estates.

Resolved, That the Committee for the Bill for Sale of Delinquents Estates be enjoined to meet this Afternoon: And Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Love, Mr. Attorney General, Sir Wm. Strickland, Mr. Henry Darley, Mr. Stephens, Mr. Strickland, Mr. Ralegh, Mr. Carew, Sir Thomas Jervoice, Mr. Moyle, Sir Richard Lucy, and Sir John Bourchier, are particularly enjoined to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber, upon that Bill; and to give an Account of it to the House Tomorrow Morning.

Manby's Invention.

Mr. Garland reports from the Committee, Amendments to the Bill for George Manby, prohibiting any to make use of his Invention for boiling all Sort of Liquors, for Fourteen Years: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be ingrossed, and brought in on Tuesday next.

Report deserred.

Ordered, That the Report, in the Hand of George Fleetwood Esquire, from the Commissioners of Goldsmiths Hall, be taken into Consideration To-morrow, next after the Earl of Northampton's Business.

Southampton Militia.

Ordered, That Mr. Love be, and is hereby, desired to go down into the County of Southampton, about settling the Militia there: And that he give an Account thereof to the Parliament.

Commissary.

Mr. Scott reports from the Council of State, That a Commissary for Victuals be allowed and appointed for the Marching Army: And that the said Commissary may be allowed an Assistant, and Two Clerks: And that Pay may be established for them, according to the Establishment for Ireland.

Resolved, That the Parliament doth agree with the Council of State herein, That a Commissary for Victuals be allowed and appointed for the Marching Army: And that the said Commissary be allowed an Assistant and Two Clerks: And that Pay be established for them, according to the Establishment for Ireland: And that it be referred to the Council of State, to nominate a Commissary: And that the Committee of the Army do give Warrant to the Treasurers of the Army, for the Payment of him, accordingly.

Thompson's Proposition.

Resolved, That, upon the Proposition now made by Colonel Thompson, it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to consider of the Business; and send for Parties; and report it to the House: And, if any Advantage arise thereby to the State, that the same shall be employed for the Service of the Navy.

Delinquents Estates.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to consider of the Proposition now made in the House, touching Discoveries of concealed Estates of Delinquents, who have compounded; and for printing the Compositions already made, and sending the same into the several Counties; and confer with the Commissioners of Goldsmiths Hall; and thereupon prepare some Proposition to be made to the House, for the Advantage of the State; and report the same on Wednesday next: And Mr. Stephens and Sir James Harrington are added to that Committee.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee of Obstructions to consider of the particular Sums of Money mentioned in the Act for Sale of Dean and Chapters Lands, which were by that Act suspended until they should be allowed by Parliament, or such Committee as the Parliament should appoint; and such of them as have not been already allowed, to state the particular Cases to the House; and not to make any further Allowance of any of those Sums, until the Parliament have taken Consideration thereof; and report the same to the House with all Speed.

Resolved, That it be likewise referred to the same Committee, to consider what, and how many of the particular Sums before-mentioned, have been already allowed; and report the same to the House; together with the State of the Business, as to those particular Sums; and the Grounds whereupon the same have been so allowed.

And the particular Care of both these Businesses is referred to Major Salwey.

Transporting Coin, &c.

Mr. Garland reports from the Committee, Amendments to the Bill against Transporting of Coin, Plate, Bullion, &c.: Which were twice read; and the Bill, upon the Question, re-committed to the same Committee: And that Sir Henry Vane, Major Salway, Mr. John Ashe, Mr. Boone, Mr. Thomas Challoner, be added to that Committee: And that those Five do take a special Care of it: And they are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in Mr. Speaker's Chamber; and so de die in diem.
