Mr. Speaker.

MR. Rous was called to the Chair.

Clerk of the House.

Resolved, That Henry Scobell Esquire be, and is hereby chosen and appointed to be Clerk of this House.

Serjeant at Arms.

Resolved, That the Debate touching the Choice of a Serjeant be adjourned till To-morrow Morning.

Message to the Lord General.

Resolved, That some Members of this House be sent to the Lord-General to desire him to afford his Presence and Assistance in this House, as a Member thereof; viz. Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper, Sir Gilbert Pickering, Mr. Strickland, Col. Sidenham, Mr. Moyer, Mr. Carew, Col. Bennet, Col. Jones.

Instrument of Supreme Authority.

Sir Wm. Roberts delivered in the Instrument made by the Lord-General, under his Hand and Seal; whereby the several Persons therein mentioned were constituted to be the Supreme Authority.

Members chosen.

The Question being propounded, That Major-General Lambert, Major-General Harrison, Major-General Desborow, and Colonel Thomlinson, be, and are hereby, called to sit as Members of this House.

And the Question being put, That that Question be now put;

It passed in the Affirmative.

And thereupon it was Resolved, That Major-General Lambert be, and is hereby called to sit as a Member of this House.

Resolved, That Major-General Harrison be, and is hereby, called to sit as a Member of this House.

Resolved, That Major-General Desborow be, and is hereby, called to sit as a Member of this House.

Resolved, That Colonel Matthew Tomlinson be, and is hereby, called to sit as a Member of this House.
