Monday, 11th of May, 1657.

Grant to Dr. Owen.

A BILL for settling of forfeited Lands in Ireland on Dr. John Owen, in lieu of Lands formerly ordered him in England by Parliament, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time on this Day Sevennight.

Grant to Bastwick.

Mr. Gorges reports a Bill for settling Lands in the County of Dublin in Ireland, upon Susanna Bastwick, Widow, and her Children, and their Heirs; and for continuing some Pensions to the said Susanna Bastwick, during her Life: Which was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time on Friday Morning next.

Refusal to pay Fees.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant against such Persons in the several Bills for Naturalisation, whose Names being passed this House, shall not, upon Demand, pay the usual and accustomed Fees, that they do either pay the same, or attend this House, to answer their Neglect therein.

Estates in Ireland.

Resolved, That the Bill for Ireland be now read.

A Bill for Assuring, Confirming, and Settling of Lands and Estates in Ireland, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time on Saturday Morning next.

Earl of Clare's Petition.

The humble Petition of John Earl of Clare, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee, to whom the Bill touching the new Buildings is referred.

Irish Adventurers.

The Question being put, That the Bill for the Adventurers in Ireland, be now read;

The House was divided.

The Noes went forth.

So it passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That the Bill for the Adventurers in Ireland be read on Wednesday Morning next.

Probats off Wills.

Colonel Carter reports from the Committee, to whom the Bill for Wills and Administrations was committed, further Amendments to the same Bill; together with former Amendments, reported the 24th of December 1656; with some Alterations, but not new-written.

The Question being put, That this Clause in the Amendments reported 24th of December, in these Words, "That every Will in Writing, wherein Lands are devised," be Part of this Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, That the Blank in the 9 Line of the 5th Leaf of the Bill be filled up with these Words, "Two hundred Pounds."

The Question being put, That these Words, "That this Court be a Court of Record," do stand;

It passed in the Negative.

And the rest of the Amendments were, upon the Question, agreed.

Resolved, That these Words be added in this Bill in the 3 Folio, in the 28 Line, next after the Word "Devon;" viz. "and City and County of the City of Exeter."

Resolved, That for the County of Mountgomery, the Register shall be at the Town of Poole.

Resolved, That this Bill, thus amended, shall be ingrossed.
