Wednesday, the 3d of August, 1659.

Preachers thanked.

ORDERED, That the Thanks of this House be given unto Mr. Caryll, for his great Pains taken in Prayer and Preaching before this House this Day, being a Day set apart for Fasting and Humiliation in this House: And that Colonel Thompson do give him the Thanks of this House accordingly.

Ordered, That the Thanks of this House be given unto Mr. Cooper, for his great Pains taken in Prayer and Preaching before this House this Day, being a Day set apart for Fasting and Humiliation in this House: And that Colonel Thompson do give him the Thanks of this House accordingly.

The like Order for Dr. Owen: And that Colonel Sydenham give him the Thanks of the House accordingly.

Letters read.

Sir Henry Vane reports, from the Council of State, A Letter from Thomas Pury the elder, and others, from Gloucester, of the First of August 1659; and also a printed Paper, intituled, "The Declaration of the Lords, Gentlemen, Citizens, Freeholders, and Yeomen of this once happy Kingdom of England:" And another Paper also, intituled, "To all the Faithful of the Land, as well Military as Civil:" Which were all read.

Another Letter from Chester-Castle, from Thomas Crovton, dated 1st August 1659.

Another Letter therein inclosed, from A. Bradshawe, dated from Marple, 30th of July, at Two of the Clock Afternoon, were also read.

A Letter from Wroth Rogers, from Hereford, of the 1st of August 1659, was also read.

Sir James Harrington reports, from the Council of State, A Letter, dated at Bristoll, of the 1st of August 1659, from Colonel Okey: Which was this Day read.

Which Letters were all delivered back again to Sir Henry Vane.
